Which is the reason I gave this church only three stars. I never thought I would live to see the day. Where a Catholic Church locks its doors in the middle of the day. It shows you what type of world we now live in. When the Catholic Church is afraid to allow the public inside. To pray to our lord and savior. I can't help but to think. How many men and women. Who In a time of need and despair. Desperate to spend some time with Jesus Christ. Attempted to go into St Paul's church. Only to find themselves not welcome. Because the doors were locked. Bishop Zubik, started a campaign a while back. Titled the lights are on for you. Trying to get people to come back to the church. He should have started a campaign. And called it, the doors are open for you. Informing all the faithful that they are welcome in the Catholic Church anytime of day. Not only on Sunday's. I pray the day will come again. Where all Catholic Churches are open 24 hours a day seven days a week. After all a persons faith would grow a lot stronger. If they were allowed to spend time in front of Jesus Christ. God bless.

The worship band was wonderful and fun with an occasional rock and roll flare which appealed to my husband and my boys, with some tender moments that my soul was craving. But the highlight for me was the message. He probably doesn't know it, but Pastor Bill was speaking directly to me today with his discussion of Daniel. He preached about remaining in integrity and obedience in public as well as private, even when it's uncomfortable. He spoke about how God may not change our circumstances or our consequences for obedience but He is always faithful and He will never abandon us. Man I really needed that reassurance today and I appreciated all the biblical references between Thessalonians and Daniel. Everyone there was kind and friendly and I can tell that they are working hard in service for the community here. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Pittsburgh and I highly recommend you check them out also. Thank you Impact Church!

I researched other nearby churches, but the others did not clearly honor Jesus in their "About Us" section or have a Bible-based belief system. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived and enjoyed coffee and donuts before service. The worship was simple and heartfelt with contemporary songs. The teaching was on the power of persistent prayer, and it was delivered with doses of scripture, personal testimony and humor. If we lived in this area, we would be back.

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, multiple times for daily and Sunday Mass and daily confession…read moreopportunities? You definitely won't find that anywhere else in the Diocese (or maybe even in the area as a whole). I learned about the Oratory when I moved from Buffalo and was unpleasantly surprised that there are so few options for perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in this area. Where I lived in the Buffalo area, we had three chapels within a 15 minute (or so) drive. I didn't realize how spoiled I was. I fist visited for Adoration. During daylight hours, the chapel is open to everyone. For the later evening and overnight hours, you need to know a code or be a registered Adorer. I like that there is a sense of security so if you do have a late night prayer time, you can feel a sense of security. The chapel itself is pretty small. Every Mass I've been there for was literal standing room only (and often even spills out into the hallway). But the chapel is packed with beauty. The priests that celebrate Mass are reverent with meaningful and impactful homilies. They are also very compassionate and friendly. The Oratory has a small parking lot at the side of the building, but there is also generally street parking available as well. I definitely recommend attending Mass or Adoration here.

The priest were extremely personable once I talked to them. I started off going to their masses late and leaving early, but by the end of college I couldn't keep away from the chapel. Very conducive environment for learning about faith while there are a fair amount of chill people that are involved there. I have since explored other newman centers and find this one to be one of the best. Bombtastic priests that always have adoration going on equals a knock out combo for doing well in school (constant prayer: Lord I have no idea what I am doing please be with me during his test). Getcha some of this newman center and you won't regret it (warning: some of the students can be off putting at first, but there are a bunch more that are normal and it took a couple visits to fully understand that)

I wondered into this church on a whim and was pleasantly surprised…read more The first thing that impressed me was the breakfast they served from 10-10:30am which included cheesy and regular scrambled eggs, regular and turkey bacon, French toast, fresh cherries, grapefruit, and peaches as well as a variety of beverages including both iced coffee and hot coffee. This struck me as an incredibly generous gesture and helped nourish my brain in preparation for the sermon. People started trickling in more and more during the worship part of the service which extended from 1030-12 with the census gradually increasing from about 16 to 30 members. Most of the congregation was sitting on the left side of the church and there were still plenty of seats available in the soft red chairs. The people who were singing sang with such power in their voices and the vibration of the music carried through every corner of that church. The pastor was grounded in the kind of humility that only comes from feeling Gods power in your life and the parts of his sermon that stood out to me the most was when he said to "Focus on the power of God *in your problems* while emphasizing the verse that talks about how God says his strength is "made perfect in our weakness" as well as his testimony that "When you walk with God you even learn to take pleasure in knowing you're weak sometimes" which felt particularly poignant. As the sermon went on it turned into a poem with the pastor creatively weaving together hopeful Bible verses in a culturally relevant way with the congregation cheering his words on. One of the most moving aspects of the service happened at the end when I asked the pastor to pray over me. Without me sharing anything about my situation, he seemed to know exactly where I was in my faith and life and prayed precisely for what I needed. I can't explain how he knew what he knew - it felt like something that can only come from a person who truly has the gift of wisdom from God. The wisened old pastor is truely a man of God. He has knowledge that transcends trends and time and the church is truly a place of love and healing.
