We liked the short film a lot, the museum was OK, the outdoor area not worth the visit. Overall worth going for 1/2 hour (unless you are very big into rocks).

Odd combo, but the original house and the stables converted into exhibit halls are very nice, as is the plots itself. I came for the Matthijs Röling exhibit (top notch) for which the painter selected works by himself and by his friends and students. Next door is a massive old style playground with all kinds of rides and slides. Worth the visit, especially if you combine the two as you are in the area anyway.

There has been some part built onto house parts at the museum as well. In order to see the Frida Kahlo exhibit, you'll need to buy timed tickets in advance. You really have to arrive more or less on time for it. They do manage the traffic flow pretty carefully. The Frida Kahlo exhibit is absolutely stunning, but it's not for the faint of heart. You can see some of the museums regular works in other parts of the museum as well. There is a very nice museum shop here too.

Fabulous museum and memorial for victims of the Nazis and the 107,000 people who were transported…read moreout of the Netherlands during WWII under the Nazis' regime. The exhibition is in Dutch only but it has a translation sheet the people at the desk can give you. You can take a bus to the memorial from the museum for 3 euros. Or it's a 45 minute walk. The memorial has impressive tour guides that recount the people who were taken and transported to concentration camps. I recommend the tour guides. We saw the boxcars replica and the commandant's house. The actual memorial is the last stop on the tour, a series of monuments in the shape of the Netherlands with each symbol representing one person--107,000 people who were brought through Westerbork. This includes Anne Frank and her family. Powerful and haunting memorial!! You have to drive about 2 hours from Amsterdam to the memorial. The museum has a cafe that has nice snacks.

Surrounded by water, cool and very modern structure.. maybe a bit too colourful but definitely a great place. Inside it is very modern, perfectly accessorised for shows. Just a nice gem of museum. 2 coffee shops for drinks and refreshments. Different floors.
