Their selection is amazing and you can taste a very good coffee there as well. Their customer service is wonderful and she called a taxi driver to come and take me to the train station. My cousin who is living there about 40 years told me that a mom and her two sons run this business since the husband/father passed a while ago. Ambiance was so great and welcoming. Tons of amazing looking pastries in the counter. Chocolates, cheesecakes and more. We skipped over all of that and sat in the back where we had Verona's equivalent of Lisbon's "Pastel de nata" except these are made with a short grain rice called "nano." They love their rice in Verona! With the "Risino" pastries, we also enjoyed coffee. And this espresso was super charged. I shouldn't have gotten a caffeinated drink this late in the afternoon because I was ready to go for the rest of the day and into the evening. Lots of terrific desserts and coffees here. My wife had spotted this bakery/cafe on the street corner while we were riding the bus, doing the…read moretouristy thing. After we checked off all the sites on our itinerary she mentioned a the shop. She could see the pastry case from the bus. "It looked really good." We were across town. I told her, "fine, but this place better we worth the trek!" It looked very fancy/expensive. (Sorry no pictures of the place). When each ordered a couple of confections, a pastry and a hot chocolate. Nothing was priced. We ordered blindly. We had had a hot chocolate the day before at place by the arena. We figured this place, since it was more elegant, would obviously be more expensive. We received our hot chocolates, which had the consistency of a warm, rich pudding - delicious! Our pastries were very good and filling. I walked up to the counter to pay our bill, dreading the surely high price given the quality and atmosphere. The cashier told me it was 8.20€. I had to ask her to repeat herself because I couldn't believe it! All of the delicious pastries and exceptional hot chocolates for less than 10€?! This place was a bargain!
