First and foremost, you can spend hours, and hours exploring and still not experience everything this space has to offer. We attended a wedding on one end of the grounds (a beautiful area boasting a grand staircase leading to a gazebo with unparalleled views of Costa Brava waters. It was a waves slashing against stone as you state your vows, costal winds brushing your face, and gently wiping the happy tears of an emotional ceremony type of spot), and I couldn't envision a better introduction to the grounds. This is a spot where man meets nature; a true gem on the Mediterranean. When retuning I will certainly do so with a significant other, a family member, a kiddo or a best friend, someone I truly care to make memories with as these special spots are certainly for those special moments.

All I can say from experience is humiliation…read more I called this place too see if they had any soil for my garden. I was talking to them in Spanish, which is a language I speak fluently, and couldn't remember the word for soil, so I used the word in Spanish for soil on which a building is built upon. When I got there they were laughing at me, snickering behind my back. It was humiliating and I would not want to go back. That being said it wasn't very expensive. It's a small locale, pretty, with lots of different flowers and plants. I love flower shops, so I really hope this is just a fluke, but I don't think I'll be going back.

A small florist, nursery and garden shop near the railway station in Vilanova…read more There are two small shop areas at the front, but behind is a large courtyard and a glass house, all containing both indoor and outdoor plants. They have a large service for making up flowers for special occasions. Prices are reasonable compared with the UK, with a wide range of plants available for under EUR15. As you would expect, the range tends to a greater emphasis on Mediterranean and drought-tolerant plants, including lots of succulents and cacti. They sell a range of fertilizers, insecticides and other garden chemicals, as well as seeds, compost and decorative pots. It's actually quite a nice place to stroll around during a morning's shopping.
