Finding nothing else missing from my luggage, I realized I only needed to replace the lock. When I asked the front desk staff on where to go, they pointed me to Fashion Drive. On my first day in Monterrey, I walked over to this huge mall, which sat across the street from Fiesta Americana. This mall is three stories high, and has just about everything that you would find at a mega-mall in the United States. The layout is U-shaped, and a nice long walk. Along the way, I chatted with some locals, and got some good tips on where to go. I also found the type of store I was looking for, which sold luggage and accessories. After buying what I needed, I went to eat at one of the restaurants attached to this mega mall. The eateries here are nice, upscale places. Details for these places will come in future reviews, so stay tuned. One I got done eating, I retraced my steps back to the main entrance facing my hotel. I stopped by a Starbucks location on the first floor before heading back to my suite. I sat down to enjoy my coffee, and took in the great atmosphere. Overall, I was impressed by this place. If you need to buy anything, and find yourself in Monterrey's San Pedro neighborhood, then this is the place to go. Check it out!

It was most definitely a good call. I was impressed by the ambience here. It is upscale, modern, and very well kept. The staff here was very accommodating, and we got the best service available. Metropolitan Center is a high-end plaza hosting many fine restaurants on its three floors, as well as a coffee shop, all while providing a good view of San Pedro Garza Garcia (Mexico's most affluent county). It goes without saying that you need to dress to impress here. Keep this place classy, folks! I spent a couple of days here walking around since it was too hot to be outside. I bought things in Liverpool, and in Sears. I think I also bought a shirt for a friend in H&M and I bought something from the new Disney store for a little friend of mine. There's lots of places to eat. The only problem I had was that their directory on their website was horribly out of date. It's so out of date that they still list continental airlines. Even though the mall was in walking distance of the hotel, you couldn't really walk without taking your life in your hands. The roads just are crazy there. Still, if you're looking for a good mall experience and you have some time, this is a good place to go. They have a really nice movie theater and the kids play place is adorable. It's a huge tree House.

The only place that I can comment on is La Embajada. For my experience there, please check out my review for that restaurant. Lunch time is not too packed here. Most places are open, and the staff is able to take care of you well. I came here during lunch time, after I got done shopping in Fashion Drive. This place gets more packed in the evening time. I strongly recommend reserving a table ahead of time, as there were almost no free tables anywhere when I tried getting dinner here. There are also bars in the vicinity, if the dive bar scene is your thing. If you can't get a table here for your group, Metropolitan is just across the street, which has high end restaurants in its three levels. This place is great for a nice lunch, and I will be back to have dinner here on my next trip to Monterrey.

There is something for everyone in this shopping mall, clothing, music stores, electronics and of course food! There is also a movie theatre attached to it as well as big department stores from the country. There is a parking garage you can pay to park but just beware they charge by the hour and not a flat rate like other places do. They do have elevators and is ADA accessible. It does get crowded over the weekends so just keep that in mind.
