There is construction everywhere. This is a normal dump: They take household trash, yard and tree debris, hazmat garbage, plastic, cardboard and metal recycling. The staff is very helpful guiding people to the right place and will point you where to go. During the storm cleanup they even have code enforcers helping out. Need a good dump? It's normally open 7 AM - 4:30 PM Monday through Saturday. After today (4-4-20), & until further notice, residential customers may drop off up to eight loads of trash daily, but NOTHING else. According to info on the webpage, due to health concerns, beginning today (4/4/20), only the following items will be accepted at this location & at the East Pasco Transfer Station in Dade City: "Residential bagged garbage, commercial landscaping yard waste, & commercial junk removal services." Once you enter the grounds of this location, you'll encounter a building with a lone employee outside who'll check your ID to ensure you're a Pasco county homeowner or business owner. (However, the personable man didn't ask to see my ID.) You'll explain what you need to dump & s/he will point you in the direction of the area you'll need to use. Upon arriving @ your location, another lone employee will tell you which bay you are to utilize. There's a rather high wall between you (the customer) & the dumpster on the lower level, so bring help if you have heavy objects to toss. (After seeing me struggle for eight minutes to get a La-Z-Boy recliner from my SUV & up over the wall, the young man walked over to assist.) Follow the many signs to exit the property. This is an organized and ironically clean complex surrounded by many tall green trees. I chose it over closer locations because it's a beautiful sunny day & this landfill isn't very far from a gorgeous county park (Crews Lake).

We parked in the short term parking garage since the first 60 minutes is free. The elevator on the red side of the parking garage takes you straight down to baggage claim. It was a short walk after exiting the elevator. It was very convenient. It was great because they called us in right away even though we were super early for the appointment. The two ladies fingerprinted and registered us at the same time. I think it only took about 10 minutes. Such great service! I recommend this location to anyone who needs to enroll for TSA Precheck.

I decided to make an appointment and last minute my husband decided to take his chances and go with me abd see if he could get in. My appointment was at 9:00 and we arrived super early at 8:20. I was taken right in and we were both done by 8:40. Very effificient pricess. All you need is your passport and credit card. Cost is $85 for 5 years. You can check your approval status on line within a week of enrollment. For anyone who has had the pleasure of getting choaen randomly when flying you know how wonderful it is to get the expedited line and keep your shoes, belt and jacket on and not have to take your computer out of your bag. It is a breeze. I fly a lot so this is money well spent and I can stay fully clothed at all airport security check points. Highly recommend for anyone who flies more than a few times a year as the cost is minimal compared to the hassle of not having it and Tampa International airport makes it easy. Located right next to red baggage claim carousel 13 and Alaskan Airlines. Park in red area of short term parking garage and take elevator to 1st level and you have arrived at your destination. It's quiet, spooky, surreal and full of huge mostly empty buildings. Even some of the large multistory residential buildings appear to be empty. The Scientologists made downtown Clearwater their home base and bought a significant percentage of the real estate over the years. Some of the businesses on N Fort Harrison street are affiliated with Scientology and are not actual independent local businesses. When I go downtown for a public outdoor yoga class in a parlk or a pop up market or some other very rare reason, Scientology folks are walking busily from place to place but won't typically look at you. It feels like a freaky science fiction movie when you experience it. Life is different in Clearwater.

Back then, the furthest west I had traveled on Hillsborough Avenue was the Oldsmar flea market. I had no idea the city itself had such a rich history. This is a direct quote pasted from Wikipedia, which was provided by the Oldsmar Historical Society: The Oldsmar name dates to 1913 when automobile pioneer Ransom E. Olds purchased 37,541 acres (151.92 km2) of land by the northern part of Tampa Bay to establish "R. E. Olds-on-the-Bay". The name was later changed to Oldsmar, then to "Tampa Shores" in 1927, and finally back to Oldsmar in 1937. There is one interesting fact that I like to tell folks about Oldsmar. When the 727 area code was created in 1998, Oldsmar was excluded making it the only remaining municipality in Pinellas county with the 813 designation. Oldsmar is an interesting place, but unlike its neighbor to the west, Safety Harbor, there is not much action here. There are a few indie restaurants on Tampa Road, but it's mostly commercial-looking and the street is dominated by chains. To get into downtown is tricky, and most people do not even know it exists because it's off the beaten path and hidden. If there were more awareness, or better signage, something good could happen downtown. As of right now, there is one business; The Oldsmar Tap House. It's been there since before the craft beer boom, and their beer selection is always pleasing. For food in Oldsmar, I like to hit up Jack Willie's. This is a tiki-biker-bar with a bit of a Key West vibe. The burgers, wings and grouper sammiches are hands down the best in the NW Hillsborough/east Pinellas area. Also unknown to many is that there is a city park with beach way past R.E. Olds park if heading south on Shore Drive. This is just another example of how Oldsmar is failing as a city. It sits at the top of the bay and is poised to explode, but it just needs a little marketing help and investors who are willing to open up some businesses in the downtown area.

Folks traveling along ALT 19 pay no attention while they're caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily automobile traffic. If people slow down a bit, and hit the Pinellas trail, the old rail line bulges west just north of Curlew and harkens back to a more simple time. The first home built here was in 1875, and as more folks settled in Florida during the golden citrus years, this village saw sleepy prosperity with its orange groves and fishing wharfs buzzing with activity. Tampa Road, which originated here, was the first paved road leading into Tampa, directly connecting the big city with Oldsmar, Dundein, Palm Harbor and Ozona. Things are obviously much different now. The village is quiet, laid back and the vibe is a kin to Cedar Key on a Monday night. They've got their own post office, a BBQ joint, pizzeria, pub and plenty of coastal property to catch a sunset. To me, this place is far removed from traffic, tourism, unexploited, raw and uncut--pure Florida. I absolutely love it. Oh, and all streets are golf cart friendly.

The TSA agents are awesome, the lines move really quickly and efficiently. I have pre check status so that makes things even easier. They usually just have the old type scanner running but I ask to "opt in" for the body scan due to a total joint replacement and setting off every alarm possible. They graciously open the scanner for me every time without any hassle. Some airports seem aggravated when you ask because usually they have to bring another agent over. But here they seem to go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. Always a great experience and makes travel less stressful.
