Very nice presentation on the outside and inside. No English here, so you'll have to depend on your French to get by. The staff, however, is very accomodating and will do their best to help you navigate the menu.
Great wine list. Opted for a rich Cotes du Rhine.
Order individual items or select from their Prix fix list with an Entree + Plat; Plat + Dessert, or all three.
Started off with a delicious soup on the Entree list: Velouté de panais et tpinambout aux duex lardons.
Rich, warm and satisfying. Along with the crusty bread and wine, you could make a meal on this alone.
Next, the Plat. A Normandy specialty: Cocotte de canard aux duex pommes. Basically, duck stew. The duck was perfect. Tender...falls right off the bone. The broth was rich and spiced lightly along with some potato, apples & onion.
My Dad had the Le Pot au feu de boeuf (Beef Stew). He loved it. I tried some, but preferred my pot of duck much better.
Finished off with a baked apple dish, "Gratin de Pomme et sabayon au calvados".
Delicious. Not too sweet or filling! Yikes, I was already stuffed.
