If you're looking for a generic, assembly line hairstyle done by an unprofessional, inexperienced,…read moredishonest wanna-be willing to ruin a client's hair to make her job easier at a sad over-priced mall salon, this is the place for you!
This place ruined my hair permanently! They have no clue how to deal with curly/ethnic hair or how to deal with dissatisfied clients! & instead of saying so, they opt to take your money & damage your hair in their attempt to make the blow drying easier on their wrists. If I could give negative stars, I would. Not only was their initial service terrible, they further insulted me by lying about what was put in my hair & refusing to reasonably fix the situation.
I went to this salon because my regular place was closed just for a blow out with waves, my usual salon request. I could tell the stylist was overwhelmed by my curly hair & couldn't even figure out how to comb the conditioner through it. Instead, she asked me to do it. It was obvious that she only has experience with tame, straight hair. After the rinse, she offered a conditioner upgrade. She said it was a 10-minute restructuring conditioner much like a regular one to help with frizz. Because I'm very vigilant about what people use on my curls, I asked her again to make sure it was just a conditioner.
As soon as I sat in her chair with my wet hair starting to dry, I knew something was strange about the texture but I gave her the benefit of the doubt & let her finish the mediocre blow drying. I paid for the service including the 15€ upcharge for the conditioner. I asked her to tell me the name of the product & she was hesitant & vague. She did not want to tell me & instead just said it was a Nashi Brand conditioner.
After my first, second, fifth wash at home, I realized what she had probably put in my hair was a texturizer, similar to a very mild relaxer or straightener. My hair just would not curl & the waves were not even consistent throughout my head. I was furious & terrified of the permanent results to my very long hair. I know that the only way to get rid of this is to grow it out & cut it.
I went back to the salon & spoke to management because the stylist was not there. They took a photo of my hair & agreed the texture was awful & the ends looked split. They said they would get more info from the stylist & call me back. They never called so I returned after 2 weeks. I attempted to find out what product she had possibly put in my hair. They basically argued & lied & were dismissive. They really had no idea what to say when I had a rebuttal for all the BS they were trying to feed me about what actually happened. They never offered to refund the upcharge. Instead their offer, laughable, was to have me return the next month when the Moroccan Oil rep was there so that I can ask him questions. ?? As absurd as that was, I wanted to follow this ridiculous attempt at customer service & recovery to the end. I knew my hair was permanently ruined & that there would be no repairing it but I persisted because I was curious to see where they led me. Not surprisingly, they never called me back to to meet with the probably-imaginary rep.
I'm disgusted about what they did to my hair & even more so at how they handled their error in judgment. It is apparent they have no regard for their clients & could not care less if they return. They took my money the first time, I guess that's enough for them.
