I'm a little bit biased with this review because my wife works there. That said, StoryPoint…read moreMiddletown (Louisville) really is an amazing new independent and enhanced living complex for seniors/retirees. For starters, StoryPoint is new to the Louisville area. They already have established locations in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Iowa, to name a few. StoryPoint is also close to opening another Kentucky location in Union (near Cincinnati). But their Middletown location is at 500 Meridian Hills Drive. So, if you're heading east toward the Gene Snyder Freeway, take a RIGHT onto Meridian Hills Drive from Shelbyville Road and follow it all the way back. Although there are seemingly a ton of Senior Living facilities in the Louisville metro area (mainly because our senior population is much larger than our younger population), this new 3-story complex offers residents quite a lot, such as: 1.) One- and Two-bedroom apartments with balconies; 2.) A formal dining room with wait staff; a bistro with a bar and large screen TVs; and a small snack bar -- all of which are managed by an in-house food services director. Additionally, all meals are made in-house daily by their chef and sous chef; 3.) A library complete with books, computers and games; 4.) Wellness and Life-Enrichment activities areas, all headed by in-house personnel; 5.) Transportation for outings; and 6.) An Enhanced Living section of the complex for individuals who may need additional assistance with their day-to-day activities. To me, StoryPoint looks and feels like a really cool state-of-the-art new hotel. So, if you're thinking about retiring (or know someone who is) and are looking for an awesome place to live, you should check out StoryPoint in Middletown! We only had about a week to find a solution, and we are so grateful that we found StoryPoint! The management that worked with us to get us in there on such short notice, went beyond the call of duty. We were so impressed by the kindness and compassion of Matthew, Kyle, Zac and kristy, who all worked tirelessly to get them approved by their insurance company and get them in a beautiful brand new apartment. They have been there for a month now and everyone has been so kind and helpful and the food is beyond delicious! We can't wait until it opens for family to have dinner with them because the food is of such high quality and yumminess. The most important thing is that my in-laws are happy and content and that wasn't the case for their previous facility. If you are looking for a place for yourself or your loved ones, Storypoint is the answer!

From friendly staff to plenty of activities on-site as well as field trips, Brownsboro Park has been a great place for my grandma to call home. We've visited her regularly for meals - usually in the dining room but sometimes something she whips up in her in-unit kitchenette - and I've always been happy . . . you may even find me going back for seconds, especially if it's the dining room's mac 'n cheese! This New Year's Eve I joined her for their NYE party, which wrapped up early enough for me to join some friends for a shindig later. In any case, I was pretty satisfied with the toasted Brie, fruit, tarts, Swedish Meatballs, and other assorted munchies they provided for the event. There was even a toast of sparkling grape juice to cap off the evening!

It took her no time at all to fit in and make new friends. There are a good variety of activities for everyone. She even got involved with wi bowling. There are religious services on site. Her 644 sq. ft. apartment had private bedroom, galley kitchen, handicap safe bathroom, and ample storage. Unfortunately her bedroom set didn't fit too well. There are two safety pulls in each room. Weekly housekeeping is very good. There are daily specials, and the regular menu is very extensive. Laundry facilities on each floor are free. The facility is very clean, updated, with additional activities on each floor (i.e. bridge/cards, jigsaw puzzles, Mah Jong, etc.) The residents were very friendly, upbeat, and happy. She really enjoyed it there. Brownsboro Park is privately owned by a family in MN. I believe this is what keeps costs down vs. 'chain' facilities. The owners come down on a regular basis to meet with the residents. Oh, I neglected to mention the beautifully kept grounds. A pond, Gazebo, and lovely walking paths. There are quite a few places to sit outdoors.

We have done our share of traveling and living abroad. In our lifetime we have met some of the most beautiful person's anyone would ever want to meet. Finding and becoming members of The Forum Community, we have also encountered such beautiful persons. Our residence is gorgeous and very comfortable. The staff is friendly, caring and always ready to answer questions and lend a helping hand. The residents are increasingly becoming close friends and neighbors. The meals are well balanced and delicious. A full slate of creative activities is provided. The Forum is a "gated community" with a beautiful safe and secure campus.
