Dr. Rafferty was recommended to me by a friend, and my experience was great. Dr. Rafferty's office is small and tidy and in a convenient location. If I'm not mistaken, it is his wife who runs the office and answers the phone. I got an appointment within days, and she was very warm and friendly and welcoming. Dr. Rafferty has a quick smile and a great bedside manner. My first visit with him was thorough, and due to findings on my exam, he indicated he wanted to take some X-rays, especially since I had not had films done before. He knew this was an unexpected cost for me, and I was very grateful that he weighed the need for a procedure/test with the knowledge that I am paying out of pocket. After reviewing films, he did the adjustment, and wanted to see me back next week, which I know will be necessary. I have heard of chiropractors who want to charge X-amount for umpteen visits over the next months or year; if that is the kind of plan you like, that is great, but it's not for me, since I only need to be seen maybe 4 times a year. When he turned on the equipment to take the X-rays, it whined and squealed a bit, and he commented on the racket it made. As I looked around his office, I could guess the age of some of the tools/equipment he had in the office. I'm sure if Dr. Rafferty wanted to hike his prices and hurry along the appointment to fit more people, he could do so. Perhaps then he could have shiny, new, nearly silent equipment that does the same job. In summary, if you are in need of a chiropractor with a conservative approach who understands the balance of good medicine and cost, call Dr. Rafferty's office. Also advised that the call back girl needed to have a more professional tone! Life happens and I apologize for my daughter at 32 having a heart attack interfere with scheduling, and calling to cancel was not on my forefront of the brain.. but they never called back to apologize for the rude follow up message.
