One of my fond memories from my last visit to Seville in 2012 is strolling this park to the Plaza de Espana, and fifty countries later, it is still one of my all-time favorites. From the river, walk straight across the park to the plaza, or catch one of the many horse carriages giving 30-minute tours. Shady, with numerous paths criss-crossing the park, there are flowers, benches, toilets, and carts selling water bottles, hats, fans, and trinkets. Busy with families on weekends, one end is filled with the archaelogy museum, while the palace is on the other. Many buildings from the 1929 expo still line the park. read more

Maria Luisa Park is the most famous park in the city and most visited was opened to the public for first time on April 18, 1914.. I just love the lush areas with old trees, cute walking trails and nice areas to sit and relax. The park is one of the fundamental lungs of the city of Seville and the primary urban park. The Maria Luisa Park was formerly private gardens of the Palace of San Telmo, and were donated in 1893 by the Infanta Maria Luisa Fernanda de Borbon (Duchess of Montpensier) to the city. With 34 hectares of size, it is an ideal corner for local people and guests to rest in the shade of a woods, stroll with loved ones on the trails or sit and appreciate the trilling of fowls, the Garden of the Lions or beautiful frog fountain. You can enjoy the green areas of the park, and then head over to Plaza de España, just a few hundred steps away. read more

I was having a pissy day - Seville has a parking issue. We drove all around and found no parking. No Uber either so, we had to drive back to the hotel and parked and then started walking again. Turns out the park is only half an mile away from the hotel. The park is very nice and it brightened my day the moment I entered the gate. Some coffee and snacks to start the day with. Friendly cafe owner who had been to San Francisco and Carmel by the Sea, and loved to chat about the Bay Area. Very nice to meet a friendly Spaniard. We then we to check out the Moorish designed garden and other lovely sights. I have a few parks that I liked in other parts of the world aside from the Gold Gate Park. Central Park, of course. The Park in Mannheim, Germany, random, I know, but I quite like it, and then of course the world famous Luxembourg Gardens in Paris. I mention the above because Maria Luisa Park is a worthy rival. It's free, that's a good thing. It has a lot of orange trees, filled with ripe oranges. Nice. A bird sanctuary filled with birds and ducks, very cool. Moorish style garden design is a bit unusual and definitely sets it apart from the other parks. When you finish the walk, you come upon Plaza de Espana, where you get to sit around and check out the bridge and canals. Very relaxing. Walk or cab it. Don't park the car. It's impossible. read more

My mom is from nearby Jerez (about an hour south). Her name is Luisa Maria. I have many great childhood memories of visiting this park. So yes I'm a little biased, but this park really is special and can hang with the best of 'em across the globe. Brought my wife here on our recent trip to Spain, to see the Plaza de España (amazing in its own right), explore a little, and picnic with cava & jamon. #jamoneymoon2018 We found a great spot on the grass, under a tree, with views of the Plaza de España and the many people passing by. Then we popped the cava, swigging it straight from the bottle, and snacked on jamon iberico, olives, and picos. Weather was ideal, too. Bright and sunny without being too hot (a huge plus considering Sevilla had just been hit by a heat wave). A perfect afternoon. read more

Lovely little park near the Plaza de España, and we went here after visiting the Plaza and enjoyed the greenery. There are some really neat monuments here, especially the gorgeous fountains - as per our guide, the most famous one is called Fountain of Lions. Part of the park is near a river, and so it was fun to walk along its shady banks. The scent from the orange trees was really lovely and there were also a lot of palms and pine trees - there's an overwhelming feeling of lushness and fecundity as everything is so green and the flowers and vines are so massive and fragrant. Keep an eye out for the birds, especially parrots that you can spot flying around. A lovely little oasis in the city of Seville and super glad got the chance to check it out. Beautiful park, with a perfect walk to and from the beach. I recommend going around sunset, because the view on the sunset is fantastic. We walked around for a few hours and loved all the tile and interesting fountains. read more

A peaceful tranquil space captured our attention as we approached the much hyped neighboring Plaza De Espana. Green, quiet and animated by white pigeons and ducks gliding in the pond populated by gold fishes. We took moments to absorb in the beauty of this green space. It's probably always overshadowed by the majestic Plaza de Espana. Tourists like myself with limited time probably seldom thought of allocating time from their tightly wound sightseeing hustle bustle of more glamorous spots to enjoy the calming reprieve. Really big park to walk around in, and it would be a great place to run and bike in! It's mostly flat, and there are a lot of trees, flowers, and fountains in the park. It's really relaxing, and definitely worth a stroll! It's right next to a Plaza de Espana, so just swing by after visiting the plaza! read more

While this is smaller than El Retiro Park in Madrid, it's prettier. Don't miss Plaza de España, where you can rent a row boat for 30 or 60 minutes. 30 minutes should be enough time to row from one end to the other and back, if you know what you're doing. Otherwise, pay for 60 minutes if you don't want to feel rushed. read more

we were hurrying to see as much of this park as we could since we had a train to catch, and only managed to do a quick self-made walking tour along a portion of the park's perimeter. lots of locals and tourists were here, as were vendors selling goods, snacks, and drinks. trees and flowering plants were everywhere, and there were several trails nestled in this park as well. if only i had an extra couple of hours to spend, i'd have walked the entire perimeter and explored some of the historical landmarks inside this park. putting it at the top of my list if i should have the pleasure of returning to sevilla. read more

Very beautiful park with two museums and two rose gardens inside of it, plus many other lovely spots to sit and admire the view.
