Lots of vendor stands around some areas of the park. It's a great park to walk around or thru for exercise or take a seat on the concrete benches situated around 4 water fountains; watch nature and the bustle of activity as the day progresses. Turibus has a stop on two sides of the park. If youre going to be there a couple of days, you may want to get a 2 or 3 day Turibus ticket. (It'$ worth it$) Parque Alameda is one of the activity hubs of Centro Historical. read more

This is my favorite park in Merida - Four blocks large with impressive architecture including a fountain, library, amphitheater, and a children's area. All of the construction features Mayan inspired carvings and dedications to all the nations in the western hemisphere. It's a great place to chill out and relax read more

What a pleasant surprise it was finding this park on one of our walks from the Fiesta Americana near the Paseo de Montejo. It was the nicest parque we visited during our stay. Covering four entire blocks this park is dedicated to all the nations in the Americas with Mayan motifs and pleasant spots to relax and enjoy your surroundings. The spectacular Fountain of Kukulkan is the centerpiece, truly a work of art. Surrounding it are pathways and Mayan stelae with the names of different countries and Mayan decoration. Across the street is the Concha Acústica where you can enjoy outdoor concerts. Another block is a playground for the kids. We were there in the morning so we didn't get to enjoy the food on offer there, but I understand it's not to be missed. read more
