Before paying for a money order to apply for an apartment here, you need to ask yourself this question;
_ Do you want peace and quiet most of the time?
If you have a family with children above you or on floor above you but not directly above your apartment, you will hear them. When they run laps around the apartment, jump off furniture, bounce balls on the ground, you will hear it EVERY TIME they do that. Management won't do anything about it so if you want to fight fire with fire, go for it. The family above me loved my subwoofer attached to the ceiling just for them. If you sleep irregular hours and work the 2nd or 3rd shift at your job, this place is not for you as you will never be able to sleep when you want. If you like fresh air and leave the windows open, you will always hear the maintenance worker with a weed whacker by your windows and the landscapers that come to cut the grass at least once per week. Not only will people above you prevent you from being able to rest, you can't risk leaving your windows open. It literally sounds like someone gave a 5 year old a weed whacker and you just hear "zzzzz ZZZZZ ZZZZZING....ZZZZZZZ zzzzzzzzz zin zin zin ZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZING"...for 5 minutes next to your window but just when you thought they were done, that will go on for 10 more minutes. Don't worry though, they will make sure to redo your area a few hours later so if you were woken up by that and go back to sleep, you'll be woken up again.
All of the other negative comments on other sites are pretty accurate. You will have roaches due to people not even attempting to throw their trash away in the dumpster, you'll see half eaten ice cream cakes in the recycling containers, stray cats that some people even feed, and the lovely skunk smell at night for all the prospective fresh air with open window people. I even have pictures of the old man that feeds all the stray cats so that means all those cats will be waiting by your building everyday for him to feed them. I also have pictures of when the street thugs who like to party in their car with the bass boosted music dump their empty 24 packs of beer in the parking lot. While there have been a few positive reviews about the maintenance workers, my experience is quite the opposite. Our so called "super" didn't know how to fix the water boiler after it was replaced so we had no hot water for more than 5 days. I had to call the main office 3 separate times to get them to check it out. I had enough and went to the office in person, where the secretary was kind of upset that I kept "complaining" about not having even warm water. She called the "super" and I overheard him say that he had to get the other building's super to check it out with him. The secretary realized that he lied and never did fix it. The so called "super" with 30 plus years on the job, had no idea how to fix it himself. read more
