This is a cozy and clean B&B that feels like a visit to your aunt who lives on the country. Donna let us choose our room (we chose twin beds) and let us have our dog in our room on a dog bed we brought along. We had a/c and our own half bath; shower is down the hall next to the tv room. Rooms areupstairs, but the place has access ramps from the outside and a lift chair going up the interior stairs.
Westbrook is a small town, very quiet and clean. We chose it because it is only 15 minutes from Laura Ingalls Wildr attractions in Walnut Grove. To our delight, discovered Parkview is actually in view of a park. Right across the street is a ball park, pool ($2 per person), wonderful playground, and pretty veterans memorial garden. No dogs allowed in the park, however; dog owners did not do a good job of picking up.
In town there is a museum, only open Sunday afternoons. Grocery store and drug store and home store.
The price was great. It sounds like weekends can be busy for Parkview, so book early. No web reservations; contact Donna through the Facebook page or by phone. Don't expect luxury, but do expect comfort and a friendly host. Looking forward to the farm breakfast this morning. read more
