Zaanse Schans is a wonderful open-air park/museum, really a must-visit when in Amsterdam and around. It's very popular, of course mostly among tourists. But it's a great way to see some windmills and lots of arts & crafts.
This parking lot is right next to the park/museum and has a fair fixed-price fee. There are some spaces in front, paved. But they were full, so we parked behind the building on the much bigger, but unpaved lot.
On a sunny day you can even find some shady spots under the trees. But we caught a rainy, grey day anyways.
Your car will be safe here, the best option to park nearby surely. When we left, all the payment machines were covered and turned off already (we left around the official closing times). We asked some employees and they told us parking will be free then - the barriers were open. How lucky was that. read more
