Very distracting as it was supposed to be about the life of a friend of mine. Music was terrible. She deserved a much better sendoff and I would not recommend this funeral home for anything. my friend that came with me got up twice to ask people to please not be so loud. That was not his job. I attended a funeral service at Hainstock's Funeral Home for an old friend. They were very kind and accommodating. They had a large area for guests but there was not enough room for this service. Thankfully, they had a garage/storage type room that they were able to open for the overflow that was attached to the main area. Also, since the weather was still nice, they opened the large gate to the outside so people could stand outside as well (the extra room filled up as well). The large projection screen nice to have for the slide show. It was a good place. Obviously it's hard to have a "good" experience at a funeral home, given the nature of the business, but this place did a good job in that regard.

I was surprised to learn I had to deal with my dad's final wishes and arrangements. After a few phone calls a family friend recommended Hainstock. We called and spoke with a wonderful gentleman named Stu. Inside an hour two associates (Neil and Dave ) were dispatched to pick up and transport him to the funeral home. Throughout the entire process my dad was treated with dignity and respect.From a Canadain flag being draped over his casket to an immaculate presentation for his viewing our final time spent with him was seemless. Every detail was handled and all our wishes were followed to the letter. God forbid you lose a loved one, if you do, know that Stu, Neil and all the people at Hainstock will be professional and comforting in an otherwise sorrow filled time. Our mom passed in 2013 and my dad in 2024. Dealing with this company is so frustrating. One person's story is different than another's. They tried to recharge us for a bronze marker that was paid for. Thank goodness my parents kept everything so we were able to prove payment for their marker. I am seriously warning people NEVER to prepay for a funeral through this company. We finally got everything done and the marker in place, but the "untruths" from the representatives were never ending.

My sister and I had no experience with funeral arrangements and honestly we were worried about getting fleeced. I don't feel that we paid too much. We paid about as much as we expected the whole thing to be. Nicole was upfront about costs and walked us through options. We wanted simple, and she didn't try to upsell us. I appreciated the complimentary obituary on their site. I still had to write it, but I'm glad Nicole told us how much it would cost to have one published in the paper. We opted out of that and posted their obituary on our social media. We got the executors kit and that has helped my sister navigate my mother's affairs a bit easier. I think it was $475, but my sister is grateful to have it. Lots of legal stuff to weed through. They actually offered us a chance to view my mother before her cremation, and gave us pens and stationary if we wanted to write notes to her. There was an embalming fee, but we felt it was worth it to say goodbye. I'm told that not many funeral homes offer that, but again, my sister and I decided it was something we really wanted. They did a beautiful job, by the way. She looked healthier in death and they didn't gussy her up to look like someone she wasn't. My only complaint is that I disliked the choice of urns. I don't know how to explain it, but we didn't like the styles or the symbols available...We did find a nice grey one and we had a kind of plastic deer put on the front of it. It's a bit kitschy but I think my mother would have liked it anyway. It looks better than I thought it would. I give them a 4.5, only because of the urns.

I copyrighted the obituary so other online posters could not profit from the posting. Nevertheless someone tried and included an ai written obituary. The online scammers also got the last name wrong, so I doubt they'll have many views. Overall, I found Serenity to be compassionate and professional. Their follow up appointment was also very helpful, though it worth mentioning that we had to carefully proof-read the death document and corrected names and incorrect addresses.

She managed to locate plots in very close proximity to the burial sites of my father and nephew. Remarkable, as these grave sites are in an older, more established section of the memorial garden. Tracey was extremely patient in my deliberations for the memorial plaque and provided multiple visual choices that I could view on-line. She went the extra mile throughout the process!!! Funeral costs are very expensive, so I was delighted when Tracey offered a discount for purchase of the full package of final arrangements for my husband and myself. This contrasted favorably to another Arbor Memorial Garden where no discount was offered despite our request for the identical full pre-planning package. First off, this place has been here since I was even born. What I like about this place compared to other places is that there are hardly any tombstones just vases where people may put flowers real or fake for their loved ones. The place is well maintained, staff will throw out the dead flowers if any. The whole field shows vases spread all over the site, with ducks coming to the pond view. It's an ideal place for a cemetery. Again there are options for preparing your passing and the people who work here are very resourceful and knowledgeable. Didn't feel any pressure at all however the prices are way up there so be aware of that. Most likely there is an expansion going on at this time so I hope I get to see the final results when I visit here. They also offer mass here but never been, I'll have to update this when I do go. Inside the building is very clean and nice with a second floor, they do not accept real flowers inside just fake ones. Recommended for anyone looking to plan for their future and relieving their significant other or family of responsibilities.
