On a Wednesday morning around 10:10 a.m. my six-year-old daughter and I visited for the day. Here's our experience. 1) Admission: Arriving ten minutes after it opened, we waited in line for just under 10 minutes. At the reception, you're given a bracelet for a locker and how you charge food. You pay for everything, including the admission, at the end as you leave. 2) Amenities: There's inside and an outside areas. Inside, there are tunnels, trampolines, slides, climbing ropes, and more. Outside is the water area, a bird-nest-themed playground and a machine that spins. For 25 CZK per ticket purchased at the reception, you can ride the bumper cars, the boats, and jump on the outdoor blob. My daughter's favorites were the tunnels, zip line, blue slides, bumper cars, the blob, and the trampoline closest to the cafe. There's also one cafe that serves hot and cold food. The prices are i falter comparably, but also not horrible. 3) Service: Staff are throughout and helpful. A few of them speak English. Overall, we loved our visit. We spent most of the day there to get our money's worth!

Even though it's not the most dramatic looking, it does give a nice view of the city. I often visit the park which surrounds the castle. The castle and park have some cafes. The base of the park has some nice playgrounds for kids.

Simply walk the trails finding views of Brno, waterfalls, and sculptures. Then walk into the castle's courtyard and around to see the moat and more views of the city.

Day trip from Prague to the Archbishop's Chateau, about a three-hour drive, and it was worth it!…read moreWell, the gardens were. The chateau is located right near the city center of Kroměříž, within walking distance of the main square. Although this is a Unesco Heritage site, the guides at the desk spoke no English and didn't seem very willing to try. I tried to use my VERY little Czech and google translate but the two women who were there at the ticket counter on the particular day that I went were not trying to help, so, unfortunately, I didn't buy tix to go into the chateau and tower. TO NOTE: The ladies at the Pleasure Garden, which was down the street, were SUPER helpful (separate review on that!) When I asked the two un-helpfuls about the chateau gardens, they kept pointing on the map for me to go to the Pleasure Gardens (a different location), so I quite ON ACCIDENT stumbled upon the chateau gardens when I walked around the corner after leaving the ticket counter. You can find them to the left or right back side of the chateau. I discovered the chateau gardens open at 7am and it is free for anyone to enter and walk through. There are some pretty flower gardens to the front, closer to the chateau, but the very expansive garden extends quite a way along the back, with about 22 different sculpture/architectural gems throughout. There are several benches to sit on and relax, and a pretty little lake. I quite enjoyed frolicking around the gardens and posing with my favorite, the oversized umbrella. Great trails for joggers as well. I would have loved to see the view from the tower but the gardens are pretty.

It is a separate…read moreUnesco Heritage renaissance/baroque style garden, a short walk away from the Archbishop's Chateau and its gardens. The staff was quite helpful, and you can find some staff who speak English also. One of them spent quite some time with me explaining all about the gardens and the different ticket options I could purchase and views. The garden itself is not super huge, but gorgeous and peaceful, and you could lose track of time in there for hours. The garden is geometrical, with a loggia on one side, several statues, fountains, an orchard, greenhouses, the Rotunda in the middle, and the big fountain near to Strawberry Fields. There were quite a few people when I visited but there was a sense of serenity around the gardens so not too many crowds to try to get around. Worth a visiti!

I knew about the language option, but I felt the tour guide did not make an effort to make foreigners feel welcome. The opposite in fact. His primary concern was to check if we put on the odd slippers over our shoes to protect the floor. BTW, none of the guides wore any (not leading by example). I wish I skipped the tour and visited the wine cellar instead. However, by the end of the tour I was hot and just wanted to catch the next bus home. Overall, I expected more. If you are visiting Mikulov, it is worth stopping by. The best part was the baroque garden entrance. It was small but made an impression. The rest did not. The interiors were a bit lackluster if you have been to castles in some of the larger cities. The grounds are mostly lawns. I think in the fall it might be more interesting with some foliage change? Bathrooms require 10 crowns unless you use the one out on the street (free).
