Service was nothing short of 5 star from a friendly and warming greeting to above and beyond check in service. I has an issue with my first room because the fridge had a horrible smell but they immediately came up and addressed the matter by switching rooms and even helped with moving my belongings. The food was great in the restaurant with nice vibes but the hostess could've been friendlier. The waiter was awesome and the live band artist was so kind and talented. Wasn't expecting a live band but a nice gem. The decor and interior design was very industrial with a splash of modern chicness. I'll definitely stay here again.

Wish I could take this entire bathroom, including barnyard door, and put it in my house

Park James was the first hotel we stayed at after Covid hit, because each room has it's own air filtration system so there is no cross contamination. This place is a modern masterpiece. It has a great balance of engaging elements (without being to tacky) and intelligently designed features that are optimized for comfort. I fell in love with their amazing wooden barnyard doors and the entire bathroom as a whole...wish I could live in it. The rooms are not large but the space is well utilized. It can get a little loud if they have live music at the restaurant. In that case, you should just go down grab a drink and some yummy branzino at Oak and Violet and join in the fun. A great staycation for couples looking for some quality times. Highly recommend this place!

SERVICE Very professional & helpful staff. They seemed intimately familiar with the property & everyone I interacted with was personable. The checkin area is a bit tight & the placement has a slightly awkward flow, but it's quite fast & early checkin was available. Parking is available ROOM Great aroma & ambience when you enter the building, which continues after entering the room. The interior design & attention to detail is amazing. Lots of textures everywhere to appreciate; grooved wallpaper, hardwood panels & flooring, ergonomic lounge chair; leather straps on the armoire -- the list goes on! Very Spacious and comfortable for 2, although not much storage space for personal effects except the wardrobe. Huge desk for working and organizing ideas, although the desk chair isn't optimized for ergonomics. Large recycling receptacles shows they actually care & understand behavior around recycling Remote controlled shades & blackout curtains over the sliding balcony door. BED I've never been disappointed by a Beautyrest mattress & slept great here. The sheets are monogrammed & incredibly cozy with plenty of King size down pillows to surround yourself with. The duvet is one of the bests I've slept under this year. Great base & headboard with reading lights affixed. Ample USB & 3-pronged outlets built into the bedside tables; very sleek design that doesn't sacrifice tabletop space. BATH Glass walk-in shower with French Momo bath products (these are surprisingly mostly sulfates so bring your own). Water pressure was great in the shower but weak from the sinks. The sinks were also slow to heat & the design isn't as functional or intuitive as it should be, otherwise it's a great aesthetic. Eco friendly toilet. Towels are on the larger side. Very soft & form fitting bathrobe with hood. TV 65" Samsung flat screen with basic mount. WI-FI 2-4x faster than majority of the hotels I've stayed in this year @ 43-55mb down; 49mb up. Digital nomad approved! FOOD DoorDash friendly Room service from the oak+violet restaurant is available & the allergen friendly menu has many gluten free & vegetarian options. There is also a bar onsite with a long wine list. Coffee bar in the room that conveniently slides in and out from the desk. Noise Peaceful & quiet inside with good noise dampening. Extremely, the car wash across the street is INCREDIBLY noisy (lots of loud mariachi & power cleaning equipment). Keep the balcony door closed if looking for R&R. RECOMMENDATION Highly recommend this new & independent property. Nearly perfect except for receiving a room facing the obnoxiously loud car wash. Great service, food, & well-appointed rooms. Worthy of an extended stay or your next workcation. I look forward to returning. 4.5/5* Room walkthrough: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CuSXyocprpD/?igshid=YzcxN2Q2NzY0OA==

Extremely disappointed with my stay at Park James. My husband and I booked park james for own night to celebrate our first marriage anniversary. I chose park james solely based off how amazing their pet policy was-- how much they seemed to care. I hate leaving our dachshund with pet sitters so I was stoked on how pet friendly they appeared. I have attached what they say on their website in the photos. We arrive and no one gives us any instructions on how to park (the valet attendants weren't there and there were no signs on what to do) so we parked on the street and went to check in. Front desk was very stand off ish... definitely not a warm welcome at all. She handed me a paper that I needed to sign stating that we were not allowed to leave our dog unattended in our room and if we did and the dog was making noise, they would call the humane society! I'm sorry, what?!? I've never heard of such a thing-- and this is no where on the website!!! We had a dinner and massages booked and had planned to leave our dog alone for a few hours in the hotel room (which we did anyways bc what else were we supposed to do?) but my whole time out, I kept stressing about my dog being taken by the humane society! Also, we had to ask for a dog bed and a water bowl. None of it was as it was explained on the site. Nothing about this place felt welcoming. It was modern but stale. Left extremely disappointed. I'd rather just stayed at a cheap chain.

Came up from LA for an event at Stanford and stayed at the nearby Park James. Everything was perfect from the room, Oak + Violet Restaurant, architecture, styling, service. We had a slight technology hiccup casting from our personal devices, but Mo and the hotel engineers were responsive and committed to resolving which they did. I am sometimes a bit reluctant to stay in a boutique hotel over a big name, but in the case of the Park James do not hesitate. You'll absolutely love it here.

It took me a while to choose a place for a staycation weekend with our dog due to covid concerns and I am glad we stayed here! According to their website, each of their room has its own HVAC system - the air between guest rooms is never shared, which gave me peace of mind. We fell in love with this place as soon as we arrived. The staff were amazing and we felt taken care of. The room felt upscale with modern decors. Each room has a pour over coffee set which includes Ritual coffee and a Fellow Kettle. Their bed is also comfortable and we slept really well. The Chromecast tv is another great in-room amenities. The in-room tablet also make it very easy for service requests - we were able to easily ask for a refill of the coffee at a specific time and for our car from valet prior to leaving. One thing they could improve on is to update the Oak+Violet menu in their tablet for in room service, we ordered brunch the night before through the tablet and receive a call the next day saying that their menu was incorrect and we had to reorder based on the paper menu they dropped it off to our room. Our stay was mostly enjoyable and we look forward staying here again in the future.

Good vibes in an elevated environment! As a frequent traveler, finding a great place to work is key! California Kahve Cafe has delicious oat matcha lattes, WiFi, and comfortable seating. I loved it and will be back!

In the hotel, there's a restaurant where you can start your day with delicious French toast (10/10) and relax by the fireplace after and play a game of Scrabble. In the afternoon there are cookies near the front desk that you're welcome to stop by and eat. The swimming pool is heated and set in the rear of the hotel, giving it a nice secluded feel. The pool area has a club-like feel to it with towels on hand, a large TV, and a refrigerator full of canned water. The rooms are pristine and clean, the furniture hand-selected and styled to where it feels like a place you can sleep, work, and lounge. The bathrooms are gorgeous with double sinks, a lit round makeup mirror, a walk-in spacious shower that can comfortably have 2 people in it, and a mirrored closet where you'll find bath robes and slippers. The beds are firm and comfortable, and the pillows feel alright while sitting up, but may not be for everyone for sleeping. Our group of 11 all shared the same comments of barely getting any sleep and feeling neck sore the next day and we came to the overall consensus that it was the pillows. Overall, it's a very solid, very classy hotel with charm and a gorgeous aesthetic. Staying there felt like home away from home.

My husband's company had a conference and as all hotels in this area do, Hotel Lucent raised their prices to almost $500 a night during the conference- this is a badly remodeled motel and even on conference weeks, not worth a quarter of that rate. I am giving two stars for the kindness of Eve at the front desk and the fact that it was a roof over our head. The good ends there. Please see attached pictures: the carpets are tearing, stained and faded; there are dirty handprints on the walls in the rooms; when we arrived we found feces in the toilet and broken glass in the bathroom sink. There was spilled/splashed food on the walls behind the desk/work station; an old, dusty coffee maker; no fitted sheets on beds; mold in the shower; a musty, dirty smell in the hallways and in our room; scraped and damaged furniture in the room and in the lobby area; a non-heated outdoor pool; a broken jacuzzi with no guest access; and two slime-covered "water stations" (they only provide bottled water once upon check-in), and the "mini-fridge" in our room was non-operational. We tried our best to find other accommodations once we realized the state of our room but by that time, all the hotels in the area had been reserved for the conference. I will say, once I kindly spoke with Eve about my concerns, she assured me that they would take care of the issue and while they did use some mold-killer in the shower and cleaned the feces off of the toilet's sides- our fresh towels still had lipstick and makeup marks on them from the prior guests' use; they left a dirty coffee cup on the table and didn't take out all the trash in the room. I asked if I could have some cleaning products to try and wipe the room down on my own but I was refused, I am sure this is due to liability and I understand but as a guest paying $500 a night, I would really have expected not to have to go to the Safeway next door and purchase my own cleaning supplies to try and get the room to a more comfortable level of cleanliness for myself, my husband and my child. I am baffled by the positive reviews and feel truly led astray.

The initial savories were yummy, but I don't think that I can appreciate all of their fanciness. I don't like caviar. Ricotta tartlettes were fine. There was some sort of mousse thing that was ok, but I didn't like it much. The gougères were my favorite. The second row was cucumber sandies, chicken on croissant and lobster on brioche toast. All were excellent. I don't like caraway though, so cucumber sandies weren't the best. They bring out a warm scone when they bring out your second tea selection (you get two). The scone was not great. Just give me a plain scone and let me slather it with yumminess and I am a happy gal. This was cranberry thingy that was just ok. Desserts were good. There was some sort of chocolate thing that I enjoyed. The mini pavlova was my favorite. There was some sort of quick bread with zingy curd on top. It was ok. Then there was a moussie thing that was just ok. I don't know what it was because the online menu Does Not match what they give you. I understand that they change it, but it was a little deceptive. The ambiance was NOT relaxing. The setup up is in their café, which is next to the lobby. I didn't expect to be sitting in the lobby. In the photo you can see the front desk.

Rosewood is, of course, a beautiful hotel. The dining and patio areas are gorgeous. The staff are friendly and helpful. The private room had a booking fee and a minimum. It was a bit steep but I think the quality of the food reflects it. Everything I tried was well made and thoughtful - not too sweet and a good balance of components for every course. However, the private room felt a bit small, not very luxurious. There was no music playing and so it would feel too quiet when we were not having conversation. It was big and clunky and didn't have a "cool" shot button. A girl needs that cool shot otherwise the hot air can be too much. I didn't necessarily like that it was strictly valet parking because as other reviewers said-- nothing is walkable here so it's annoying to have the valet service get your car each time. Breakfast at Porta Blu in the morning was nothing too impressive-- I've had better food at other brunch spots. I did however include pics of the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (a little tough to cut through) and the eggs benedict (also only ok).
