After walking around and looking we narrowed it down to 2 cars we were interested in and asked if we could take them for a test drive. Were told "no" -- unless we could guarantee that we would buy it that day. WTF? How would we know that we wanted to buy a specific car unless we test drove it? Anyway, we said we really would like the cars for a test drive. The salesperson grudgingly allowed us to take one car for a drive insisting that we didn't need to compare both as they would drive "identically" (one was a Toyota and one was Mazda) and only after we signed a document saying we'd be liable for the first $1,000 damage if any occurred during the test drive. It was all very off-putting and unpleasant. Needless to say, we bought a car elsewhere.

The one car that looked befitting a young upwardly mobile professional was the new Maserati, and I had myself fitted for a metallic blue model. The salesman was more than happy to humour me, and offered excellent service, but he knew that a sale is only made once the money is handed over. This was the lesson I learnt the hard way, as my deal fell through, and my dreams of being the owner of a shiny new sports car, remains just that.

In fairness, the faults would have been difficult to spot unless you had driven the car on a regular basis. What matters though is how they dealt with the issues. Roger, my salesperson, has been excellent at making sure everything is getting repaired. They have provided me with loan cars and gone out of their way to make sure that the repair experience has their problem and not mine. I'm quite sure that their sale to me cost them money, but they have continued to make sure I'm happy without complaint. BMW's offers everything a driver of fine luxury vehicles wants, power, comfort and design. With the launch of the new one series, I decided to give it a fair go, I've always written it off as an option due to its size. But the little car is fast, comfortable and dare I say it, spacious. It is more than a just a car for young women working in advertising or hairdressers. It is a good car. The salesman took my details, gave me a brochure and offered me a follow up test drive, all the right moves. Plus my details were entered in the database, keeping me posted on any deals that might entice me to shop for a new Beemer.

Dropped my car in for some work to be done at JCBMW - paid for by a different dealer. Found out…read morethat the car was taken home my a JCBMW employee overnight and used for errands the following morning without permission. On the third day, I called to see if if was ready to be picked up, only to find out that they had given the car to someone from the other dealer and I had to go to Glenfield to pick it up. As I saw it, JCBMW allowed my car to be uplifted by a person who didn't drop the car off, is not on the paperwork, does not own the car and did not have permission to uplift it. No attempt was made to contact me to seek permission. They fixed the problem but I can't trust them to take my car back.
