    Queso

A great casual, local Louisiana-Mex spot! The looks are deceiving being in a strip mall, but the inside had a good amount of space. You order at the counter and there are employees serving tables. Now for the food! The queso was underwhelming unfortunately due to a lack of flavor and uniqueness. The bang bang shrimp taco was really good! It had loads of flavor. The birria taco was good. The meat was juicy and good quality, however it was lacking in flavor. Overall, the tacos were good, but on the pricier side being that it only includes two tacos and no sides. I'd come back to try the other tacos!

    Lengua tacos on flour tortillas

We'd been wanting to try this spot after we first heard of it on Instagram (shout out Gerald Gruenug)!. We arrived around noon and ordered at the counter with Michael. Tacos come in orders of two (no mixing and matching). I ordered two lengua on corn tortillas and two carne asada on flour, elote, chips and salsa, and side black beans and rice. Michael recommended the chimichurri rice, and I am happy he did - it was delicious: cooked perfectly with the perfect blend of chimichurri flavors. The tacos were excellent- the best tacos I've had since moving to Louisiana almost a year ago. My favorite was the lengua! Sliced thin, seasoned nicely and seared on all sides, it was tender and crispy and just the perfect combo with the corn tortilla, cilantro and onions. I am a purist when it comes to my tacos and prefer them from the streets like this. The carne asada was very good as well - cooked mid rare, juicy and covered with the yummy chimichurri sauce. Our friend ordered the elote with plantains and those were good. Crispy fried and seasoned plantain chips dipped in creamy street corn dip, I could eat the dip by itself it was that good. Chips were good, salsa mild. Truly great food here!!! Excellent friendly, casual vibes and good service. We will definitely be back next time we are up this way.

Crab cake and Royal Red Shrimp tacos. And Howe shrimp were amazing!

2nd visit and this time we tried the specials! Met Ash for her daddy-daughter birthday lunch. We shared the tacos, all of them, and had a clear winner: Royal Red Shrimp Tacos! First, lemme say, the scallops were cooked perfectly, but I found they were so fresh and sweet, the act of turning them into a taco detracted from the delicate flavor of the meat. Still, it was a delicious dish; enjoyable and yummy, sure to please any palate. What did you say? A CRAB CAKE taco?? Oh yeah, that's what we said, and if I had ordered only these, I'd be raving about them...but I got them with Royal Red offering and - despite being chin-dribble worthy - the shrimp taco just knocked it out of the park. The crab was fresh, the seasonings perfect, and the taco ate like it was really well thought out. Highly recommend - Petunia gobbled hers down with a smile between chipmunk cheeks of love. Ah, the Royal Reds. Mmm. Mmmmmm. MMMMM! The shrimp were seasoned amd sautéed, just perfectly, and laid across the taco, expertly accompanied by an incredible array of flavors. First bite was hot and juicy and the flavors exploded out of the tortilla like they were late for a train...they were so good I had to stop eating to make sure I wasn't dreaming (I wasn't). The boudin balls were good, and the creamy sauce really elevated the dish, but I'm still giving the award to that crispy Brussels Sprouts dish from last visit. I still recommend them, though: Petunia had one and - just like magic - they're gone and we got no complaints. The staff is super friendly, be prepared to be made to feel at home!

10/10-Highly recommend Had the opportunity to visit this place to celebrate as a birthday lunch. Small quaint restaurant vibes where you order at register and have a seat. The staff visit your table often to check on you. We loved all of our food and it was seasoned to perfection. We are from Nola and a lot of people here say food is good but I have to try everything for myself. It's so good y'all. We had the salsa, quest w chips, scallops/blackened fish and bang bang shrimp tacos. All simply delicious! We will definitely return!

I was really impressed: for being slam busy on a Saturday, turnover was quick and wait too. Prices were very reasonable at $9 for two tacos! Unlike other places, two Birria tacos was quite filling! I loved the music, creativity of menu and customer service. My one constructive criticism was the queso. It was a weird consistency and very bland. I'll be back to try more tacos!

Hell Yes! Legit tacos in Mandeville. Let me set the stage for you. It is Christmas Eve Eve and I am driving around doing some last minute shopping. I have been roving the earth for hours and it is now lunchtime and traffic everywhere is insane. I remembered seeing Parish Tacos on Yelp so I made a quick Toast Takeout order and headed to get my food. I am pretty sure this location was once Pontchartrain PO-Boys. That is one of my all-time favorites and I can see Parish becoming one as well. Inside is small but there are plenty of tables for dining in. The space is clean and well decorated with an awesome Pelican and the name painted on the wall. The staff were super friendly and my food was ready in the timeframe promised on the app. When I got home all I could say was wow. The food is amazing. Tacos are two to an order and are priced very reasonably for what you get. Here is the rundown of what I had: Street corn - This side was around $2 and was the best street corn I have ever had. The container said fried street corn which may have been the difference in standard street corn. But the sauce and toppings? My god. I could have eaten ten ears of this corn. Make sure you get some and drink the remaining sauce. Lengua tacos - Don't be scared of the meat. Yes, it is beef tongue but yes it is delicious. This version was small chunks which was different than the slow-cooked shredded tongue I have had in the past but it was delicious. Pork belly - This seemed like a Korean take on a taco. The belly was perfectly cooked and the kimchi made this an excellent taco. Birria - Look, if you are in the mood for a taco, get this, and don't look back. The meat was so flavorful that it didn't need the sauce it came with. But guess what? I used it anyway because it was awesome. Bang Bang shrimp tacos - This was the best shrimp taco I have ever had in my entire life. Full stop. I do not know what voodoo they did to make this taste so good but it was truly special. Kudos to you Parish Tacos. I am now craving more of this and I am still full from all the other tacos. Suffice it to say, I love this place. If you even remotely like authentic tacos, you will too. If you don't like authentic tacos why have you read this review to the end? You should probably try one and get on the taco train son.

We got birria, bang bang shrimp, gulf fish and carne asada tacos on flour. They were AMAZING!! The beer battered fish was perfect. We also got the street corn nachos which were great. Will definitely be back.

Parish Tacos is a MUST on the Northshore! The food was absolutely delicious and the tacos were full of meat, for the price this place is a 10/10. My husband and I decided last minute to snag some of their street corn and It was outstanding. So flavorful and delicious for only $4 - definitely add this to your meal! Lastly, the staff and the atmosphere were outstanding. The food came out so quickly, and the staff were so kind and welcoming! We will definitely be back and have already recommended Parish Tacos to multiple people! Go try It out!

    Shredded chicken taco

First time in and won't be the last. Felt at home walking in and chef even gave recommendations while we were looking at the menu trying to figure out what to get. The crispy pork belly taco was divine and had so much pork belly on it, you could feed two people easily. We also got the house smoked crispy wings, which were great and WHOLE wings- we took some home. The chimi crema and Parish sauces were excellent. The chips and salsa were also very good, as I love a good homemade salsa. They have a great one! Chef sent out some cheeses chicken tacos, which may have been my favorite thing on the table. A very good food experience and I highly recommend you try this gem on 22. Quaint little place with some high end food and vibes.

I ordered a taco and two sopes and asked if I could get some beans and rice on the plate to complete the meal. When they brought the food out, it was all pretty good, but my bill came to more than $25 because they apparently charged me five dollars each for maybe a half cup each of rice and beans, and when I asked about it, I got the shrugged shoulders and the " no speak English" story, as if the waitress had no idea what I was saying (and yes, I know how to say "arroz' and "frijoles"). I finally just paid the bill and left because I was getting frustrated and wasn't getting anywhere trying to find out about the bill. I'll probably go back because the food was legit, but the "communication problem" left a bad taste in my mouth and my wallet, so I'll have to make sure of what I'm asking for and what it will cost the next time. What I paid for what I got was ridiculous.

It put me in the frame of mind of Key West. There is even a little sandlot for kiddos. The workers were friendly and efficient. The prices were not bad. The whole area is covered, shaded on those hot summer nights. We ordered food and in order-to-order drinks, you have to order them from the bar area on the opposite end of the bar. We got tacos and burgers. The drink was a watermelon cocktail. Everything was just mediocre unfortunately. I didn't think the tacos had good flavor, no wow factor. The drink was a bit watered down and the burger was just Ok, sort of bland, too. I think of all the places we tried while visiting the Northshore area, this may have been our least favorite. But it does have ambience going for it. It just needs better flavors in their food.
