It pains me to write this review because part of me thinks it's a waste of my time but then again like any good journalist would say, the truth needs to be told! This painful journey started one day when I received a scoopon. I'd been ignoring those hair coupons for awhile now but my hair was just getting crazy and out of control so I thought you know what time for a haircut and a bit of a change. I've used those deal websites before to get haircuts and all of them have turned out great so I wasn't worried about the haircut but I was really worried about the dye. My very first balayage. I should've known things weren't going to go well when I emailed to book (just like they told me to on the voucher) and received no reply so I had to follow up with them when the day I originally wanted had past. So I show up on the day and the place is empty. I walk in and normally I would expect a greeting of are you Angela here for your appointment at 10? but no such greeting today. Instead I think they weren't actually expecting me and had to double check their system. I had to then remind them I had a voucher and they asked me if I wanted highlights or dye to which I said balayage. There was an option on the voucher for balayage. I showed her a photo of what I wanted which she looked at for a few seconds and off she went selecting a colour for me and the dye process began. Given I'm not an expert at hair stuff I just trusted they knew what they were doing. WRONG! I should've stopped them right there and then and said shouldn't you be cutting my hair first before you dye it? But in true timid fashion me I didn't want to step on an experts toes. After she finished the dye she asked me if I wanted a cup of tea. I said ok and then sat there waiting. But I didn't know what I was waiting for because she didn't actually say she'd finished and I needed to sit there for 30mins or anything so I didn't know what was going on. After the 30mins they took me to wash my hair, or at least I thought that's what I was doing. Instead I had my head in the basin for what felt like another very uncomfortable 30mins not knowing what was going on. That was actually the bleaching part I later found out. All this while I observed other customers coming in and getting consultations on how their dye was going to work today and thought to myself I never really got a colour consultation. When the bleach was done my hair was then washed and treated by the receptionist whom I later found out started working there helping with the construction of the salon and then slowly they made him try new things but he doesn't actually want to be a hair stylist but instead wants to go into carpentry. That would explain his lack of hair washing skills. No thorough wash and deep relaxing head massage. It was just very gentle like he was scared to get really in there. After the wash it was back to the chair for a blow dry and cut. But obviously the manager couldn't cut much off because of the dye but I told him to just thin it out and trim my fringe. He insisted I change my part because I looked younger with it parted the other way. When I tried to say no I think just leave it this side he really persisted in insisting I change it but then didn't even cut it properly which was probably a good thing because when I got home I just fixed it back the other way like I wanted. My hair was barely thinned out for someone with ridiculously thick hair and it was only 70% dry so I had to come home and dry it some more. So the experience was really bad but what about the balayage? The one thing I was worried about in the first place. The colour was not what I wanted. Was more orange blonde when I wanted more of a lighter brown tone. Also the balayage was not smooth. At some points you can see a straight line across from black to orange. Also some parts didn't look like they were touched at all so it was all very unevenly done. Needless to say I'll never be back there again. Just shocking! There is just one review for PARIS HAIRDRESSING, and it is not a good one, so I have to write my glowing review for this fantastic hair salon. If this bad reviewer had actually spoken up and told the staff what she wanted, she would have walked out happy. And if she wasn't happy with what they had done, they would have happily and gladly told her to come back so that they could ensure she was happy with her hair.You cannot expect any hairdresser to be a mind reader, particularly when it comes to our hair - you have to tell them exactly what you want, and a good hairdresser will do their best to meet your needs. One thing I do know about PARIS is, if you aren't happy with the hair, they ALWAYS allow you to return so that they can fix it up. No hairdresser is going to get it right every visit, if it involves colour/foils/style cuts. I have had my visits where it wasn't exactly what I wanted, and they want to know the truth- it doesn't help them if you're not honest with them. They want you to be a return customer, not a one-time customer. When this has happened with me, I return and they gladly fix what you're not happy with. I LOVE going to PARIS HAIRDRESSING. The staff are fantastic, the owner Wally, and his gorgeous wife Nesrine are the loveliest people you could ever meet, always wanting to have you leave their salon happy. I have colour, foils and regrowth done, along with a keratin treatment every 3/4 months. Their prices are the best you can find. If anyone can find a hairdressing salon that gives you 2 Keratin treatments for $99, or full head of colour/half head of foils for $49, I'd be surprised to find one. They not only give you these amazing deals, but follow up with fantastic work. They always offer you a cup of coffee/tea. You can't expect them to be perfect, when so busy but they will always make you that cuppa, if they have momentarily forgotten due to a busy salon. And if they do forget, just remind them; no need to write a bad review. If you're not going to let a hairdresser know EXACTLY what you want, as they go, don't expect to get your photo finish hair. The PARIS hairdressers are ALL highly professional, extremely competent, have hundreds of happy customers, they always want only the best for you, and I am one very happy return customer who has followed PARIS HAIRDRESSING throughout the 8 years I have been going to them. I started at the Miranda salon, that closed down and moved to Hurstville, and while the Hurstville salon was being built, I drove all the way to their Liverpool salon, even though it was over an hour's drive - that tells you how happy I am with PARIS HAIRDRESSING. read more
