Wow, this was really good! I tried the pesto chicken baguette, crab croquette, and chocolate croissant, and everything was wonderful. I came during lunch on a Tuesday, and it was pretty busy, but the food mostly stayed well stocked, and the cases of treats were easier to navigate than I expected after an experience at a similar bakery nearby. After waiting in great anticipation for Paris baguette to open - we waited until the crowds dissipated before trying to get in to see the new digs! - located in a strip mall therefore lots of parking - went on a Saturday afternoon and no crowds - grabbed a tray & a paper liner and slowly checked out all that yumminess ! King cream donut - just like how we remembered soft and perfect vanilla cream filling! Lemon iced mochi donut- soft and lots of lemon flavor and not too sweet- great fry on the donut Palmier- crispy slightly sweet and buttery- so so good! Iced cold coffee - very well done It was a Saturday afternoon and it was busy but their customer service is top notch- they continue to fill the self serve area - I do wish they had tongs like many of their other bakeries we have frequent but you can't beat the product & that's what counts. I think what sets this establishment apart from others similar to it is that they have grab and go lunches and serve Lavazza coffee! I went on opening day and everything was very stocked. They also were willing to warm up our curry buns that we purchased. The establishment is spacious has plenty of tables for sitting in the conversing with friends or just grabbing a quick bite to eat to go. This place kinda reminds me of Tous le Jours by how they operate. You walk in surrounded by pastry galore, pick up a tray and have at it! They had looots of options! I got the mini croissants with cream cheese, a crab roll, Nutella filled donut, Nutella flat croissant & some other goods! Each item was super yummy & flaky(just how I like it!) The one thing I will say, is this place is kinda pricey. Super exciting to have a Paris Baguette in Fort Union now; however, I must say that I lean slightly more towards Tous Les Jours simply because I think the quality at Tous is better. Paris Baguette is still great, the pastries are fantastic, though the ones I got warmed up in store may have been over warmed as they were slightly stale. In looking at the different pastries, the selection is great and I look forward to coming back and trying them all. I tried the ham and cheese, pizzaette, mochi donut and the supreme chocolate croissant this last week and all were good, just not as good as Tous. Nothing wrong with them, however also pretty similar in price as Tous so I guess it just comes down to if you have a favorite at each location since they're down the street from each other. We finally had a chance to try this bakery! It looked amazing online. They have a different approach to things, you serve yourself. They have glass cases that you can slide the glass and reach in and grab items you would like. Disappointed they don't give you tongs to grab the food, they tell you to grab a large parchment paper which seems very wasteful. That is until you see the prices.... WOW!! $4 -5 dollars for a lemon iced dount? Really? Once we got over the sticker shock we decided to sit and try them out.... The chocolate croissant was ok, just a little light and fluffy, and we also tried the Ham & Cheese Croissant which was also incredibly airy inside and only had one piece of ham...1! We were shocked at the cost, the Ham & Cheese was $5!! I can get an amazing Ham & Cheese for that price at multiple places in town! We are still shocked! While we were paying we had asked the employee if he could please heat up the pastries, which he did. While he was in the process of doing that he turns and asked that we move to the side and wait.... There was no one else waiting or walking in... it came across as very awkward and a bit rude with his delivery. One other thing I should mention is the plastic utensils were soooo flimsy that we couldn't cut through anything without them bending, we finally gave up and used our hands! lol!! Although Paris Baguette is similar to the other two Asian & French bakeries in SLC, I would say that Paris is my favorite. The pastries are flakey and fresh and the quality seems better. Saw a video reel on instagram last week and had a chance to stop in this afternoon to see what it's about because I love French pastries. Love the place. Have to admit I was little overwhelmed when I walked but as I watched other customers it didn't take me long to figure out the process. I got a crab croquet, strawberry and custard filled croissant and a raisin pastry for my husband. All were delicious! The crab croquette was super light and not greasy and my strawberry and custard croissant hit the spot and was not super sweet. The only downside is that is located on the exact opposite of the valley from where I live - so this will definitely be a destination stop for me.
