Only open for lunch and, unless already in the town, only accesdible by dirt road, this restaurant is one of the best options for a quality meal in the São Roque de Minas and Canastra areas. Located in a quaint town with cobblestone streets and a pretty church at the top of the hill, not to mention the view of the Serra da Canastra table land, the setting is great. The restaurant is fixed price (R$35 when we visited) and presents a range of dishes selve-service style on a traditional wood fire stove (fogo de lenha). Delicious classics from the Comida Mineira kitchen such as angu, quiabo, different farofas, tutu, well-prepared meats, and much more are included. Desert is also very nice, including of course the Canastra queijo (cheese) and a complementary pinga / cachaça. read more
