We planned to take a boat tour, knew we wanted a smaller boat (not a party cruise), and decided we preferred a company large enough to have a presence and therefore probably insurance and safety requirements! Stopped in and they were VERY helpful. We chose the smaller boat (could accommodate @30, but there were only @15 on board). There was a photographer on board who took gorgeous photos and sent the digital files for a very reasonable price (under $10 US). Lunch was prepared on board - fresh and delicious. The crew was great, and even spoke English which was not a given in Brazil. There was a paddle board, snorkel equipment and floats. Option to take dinghy or swim to beaches at each stop. Wonderful day.

We booked two tours, (a jeep tour in the jungle and a snorkel tour on a schooner) online with Viator and I'm sure it was significantly more expensive than just showing up at the dock and getting solicited by the cruise boat organizers. First of all, a lady came to fetch us from the hotel and as we walked past the Paraty tours office and jeep (we had a jeep tour booked) we asked her where exactly we were walking. She was taking us to the dock (yes "hotel pick-up" literally means someone walks you from your hotel to the dock). We had got confirmation for a jeep tour today but she had to call in and straighten it out. They decided to switch days on us, which turned out to be fine since we had our bathing suits on us anyway. The Netuno II boat departed at 11am (4-5 hour trip) and sailed a small area in the bay with 4 stops, two with small beaches (Praia Lula and Vermelha and Ilha Comprimida), one only to float at for lunch and one with lots of fishes (they fed). Snorkel equipment was for rent, but the masks were too leaky to really use and not worth the extra R$20. They only had that one section with fish the you could easily see from the boat. Staff was friendly and professional. They had a photographer who also explained the boat rules and translated for the trip and offered her pictures (R$70) by online link. The food was decent and they had tables and seating to eat. We tried the basket of fried fish pieces that came with mustard and a sweet and sour sauce for dipping, and was easily big enough for 2-3 people. The bottom floor had covered lounge seating where you could easily relax and fall asleep. The upstairs had pool chaise chairs for sunning. They had a dingy to take people to shore or you could just swim, since it was quite close. The second tour we took was the jeep tour to two waterfall areas (Pedra Blanca & Tobogá) with two stops at alambiques (Pedra Blanca & Engenho d' Ouro). There use to be a hike up to Estrada Real but they claimed it was a separate tour (even though it was advertised to us as part of the tour when we signed up). The waterfall areas both had an upper and lower section with two different areas to swim and relax. Both had bathroom facilities (very basic) and the second one had a bar and food (though lunch was quite filling). We never felt rushed and 40 minutes was a good enough time to enjoy the spot and not get bored. They were good about making sure everyone buckled in, offered us water from the cooler, allowed us time to shop at the alambique after (only the first one had a tour). All in all a satisfying tour with good stopping points. The jeep was convenient for the rough roads to the waterfalls. Pick up was a little late but that's because we're the last to get picked up. The guides were decent at English and friendly.
We did the waterfall jeep tour and it was so much fun! We drove around to waterfalls, hung out, some went swimming. Half way through we had a delicious lunch before heading to another waterfall where we saw a man ski down the waterfall cliff. So cool! The guides were so kind and gave us lots of cool insights on the habitat. There were two opportunities to do a cachaca tasting and learning about the distilling process. Highly recommend! read more

We used them for a transfer from Rio to Paraty and a day boat trip. Both we're professionally managed and very comfortable. The boat trip was absolutely fab. We picked a boat that fit 40 and lucked out that there were only 4 of us. Spent a beautiful day at sea with local cocktails and fresh seafood dishes. Boat trip was a highlight of the trip. read more
When my son and I went in search of a tour company to take us to the beaches of Trindade we stopped our search at Paraty Tours. Their tour left sooner than others and we were anxious to go. There, as we booked a 5 - 6 hour tour departing at 10 a.m. we were told that four others had reserved a spot but if they didn't show up - and nobody else joined in - our tour would be canceled. We reasoned that we could then book a later tour with another company and were fine with this idea. Returning to Paraty Tours office at 10 a.m. we were met by our tour operator (Cesco) and a van driver. No other tour participants showed up and the tour was not canceled which meant that my son and I had a private, English-speaking guide fully devoted to us for the entirety of the tour. Cesco led us on an intimate walking tour of numerous beaches culminating in a muddy, somewhat treacherous, barefoot hike to an oceanfront swimming hole cut off by the sea, Piscina Natural da Caixa d'Aco. On the return route we stopped for a fabulous lunch (extra cost) at a beachfront restaurant. Cesco explained that a few weeks from now, with the tourist season and heat ramping up, this tour would be full and it would be too hot to go much further than a couple of beaches. I was thrilled to have done the whole tour with what was basically my own private guide. But that's not the only thing Paraty Tours does. I also hired Paraty Tours to: * Transport my son and I from São Paulo to Paraty, a 5+ hour drive. A driver in a private car delivered the two of us safely and efficiently for a cost of $128 US; and * Drive my son and I from Paraty to Rio, another 5+ hour drive. This route was in a large van and made a stop at the ferry to Ilha Grande to take on and drop off other passengers. Cost, inclusive of the Trindade Tour for 2: $132 US. If you need travel within Brazil and want to avoid the hassles of dealing with the bus system, Paraty Tours is an excellent choice. Ditto if you're seeking a tour of Trindade beaches. Paraty Tours offers other tours which I can't explicitly vouch for but based on the 3 activities I engaged them for I'd say these guys can pretty much help you to better enjoy your Brazil experience no matter what you might be asking of them. read more

Stopped in at 9:30, booked a boat leaving at 10:30. Kids under 6 were free! Paid for 60 Real for lunch upfront but were told there are add on's at the boat but that requires cash. Got to the boat just at launch and had a wonderful experience. Lunch was served on the boat and was great. True to there disclaimer add on cost were at the boat. Like chicken fingers for the kids, beer, water, dessert, towel rental, scuba gear. All Modestly priced but the dollar is strong at 1:3 so even a 30 real cost was only 10usd. Staff were helpful and had good information as well as fun. Good for families but we did see a few party boats so be sure to ask what type of day cruise it is. If you want the youthful booze cruise make sure you ask in advance. read more
Paraty Tours MADE my friend's and my day in Paraty! If you are staying in Paraty, MAKE SURE to take a Paraty boat tour! It lasted 5 hours and we had the most beautiful time. We snorkeled, swam with fish in clear blue water, saw gorgeous islands and lagoons, and ate a delicious lunch (which was included in the cost). The people in charge of the boat were so much fun and very friendly. We were in absolute paradise. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. read more

Paraty Rentals hooked us up with Andre on the Latitude for a day-long boat tour. Great boat & Andre is an absolutely wonderful captain! His English is great. He's kind, helpful, knowledgeable. He even cuts up and serves fresh fruit. We had a great day snorkeling, swimming, seeing turtles and monkeys and checking out the beaches of Paraty. You will be so happy you went out with Andre! We had an amazing day! read more
