I ordered a mixed shawarma wrap, tabouleh salad and a side of hummus. Everything was pretty tasty and served quickly. The tabouleh was different than I've had before, mostly parsley, barely any bulgar but it was very fresh and tasty. The meat on the shawarma was juicy and tasty. I would visit this chain again for a quick meal.

They have a vegan pita that uses faux meat that tastes just like shawarma, with all the fixings like hummus, tomatoes, lettuce, etc. in a warm pita wrap. I was very surprised at how good it was and they really seemed to be happy to provide plant-based options. I also tried a side of their potatoes and falafels with a vegan garlic sauce that they happened to provide upon request. Both were fine - neither were the best I've had by a long shot, but fine for being fast food. Given the nature of the restaurant, there is absolutely cross-contamination, but I'm sure you knew that already.

Shawarma Habibi was one the UberEats app list that we never heard of, therefore it was chosen. We chose three different platters of Beef shawarma, chicken shish taouk and shrimp. When it arrived, we sat around the table for our nice dinner. I had the shrimp platter. If I compare to Amir' shrimp platter, this one is a letdown. Salad had too much citrus flavor. The rice was average. Shrimp and potatoes were good. My sister enjoyed her chicken shish taouk plate. She devoured every single item with immense satisfaction. My dad was disappointed with beef shawarma platter due its less tasty rice and salad. It was an experience to choose this restaurant.

The Long Version: My husband and I were chilling in our hotel when my husband had a hankering for some shawarma. He didn't want to go too far, and I encouraged him to try a new-to-us place, lol. So a quick search led him to Shawarmaz. Shawarmaz is a Canadian company that started 2013 in Montreal. It has several locations but they are all in the Greater Montreal Area. My husband got the beef shawarma in a pita $9.79. They have the option of getting your shawarma in Saj bread or a baguette and those options are more expensive. He got lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, turnips and onions. For his sauces he got hummus, spicy garlic and chipotle. He enjoyed the shawarma. I had a bite so I could review it (I also went with him so I could see the restaurant and take pictures) haha. I thought it was pretty good. They give you a decent amount of protein. And the beef was flavourful and not gristly. I was surprised that the wrap was not too spicy considering the sauces he chose. The decor is fast food restaurant-like. Service was good but it did take a while for the food, although it's likely because there was a pretty long line up. Review #205 (2025)

The food was fair we have tasted much better and warmer food.. some dishes came 30+ minutes late and cold. So for us it was a poor choice on Christmas Day. I wasn't sure how our evening at Le Petit Alep would develop. Some reviews said "casual," some said…read more"classy." I think it's a little of both, perhaps depending on where in the restaurant you sit. We were seated in the front on the side, which we appreciated on a very humid evening. Rather than order off the menu, our server created a sampler platter for us which included popular offerings for each course. The food got better and better as we proceeded through the courses, our favorite was the chicken skewers. Food and drink total came right in the range quoted by our server. One unexpected thing was the pita for our second course (which included hummus). It was delivered in a plastic bag. So we were unsure if the logo on the bag was where it was made. We didn't use all of ours, so when we were done with the course, they took it away. What do they do with the unused pita? Is it thrown away? Is the bag refilled and given to the next customer? Did we get a bag from earlier customers? Two other observations: We ordered a 500ml carafe of wine. We were allowed to sample it first, and the sample was chilled. The carafe we were served was significantly less chilled, and the insulation inside the container in which the carafe was delivered was not cool to the touch. The wine was still very good, but it would have been even more enjoyable a few degrees cooler. Also, even though cuisine is billed as Syrian, our server mentioned "Armenian" several times (this is not an issue at all). The only thing we didn't like was the humidity. If that is a concern to you, ask to be seated near one of the ceiling fans.

My brother and I split dinner choices when planning our trip to Montreal; Le Petit Alep was one of…read morehis choices, as he saw it in the Michelin Guide and wanted to check it out. The menu and vibe looked good, so we made dinner plans here our second night in the city. Le Petit Alep is located close to the Petite-Italie section of Montreal. When we arrived we actually went into the wrong restaurant - Le Petit Alep is on the left, and then Restaurant Alep is on the right. We were told that they're owned by the same people and share a kitchen, but are two separate restaurants - oops. Anyway, once we found our way we were seated promptly. The dining room was tastefully decorated, with warm colors that gave it an eclectic feel without being overwhelming. There was also a good amount of space so we weren't on top of each other. The menu is Middle Eastern - specifically Armenian and Syrian. It's broken up into different sections based on type of dish and size, though they also offer a tasting menu. We opted for a la carte, so our server explained how each dish was meant to be shared and gave recommendations based on our party size. We decided to get several dishes - métabal and mouhamara dips, spicy toshka grilled pita, Armenian sausage, and chiche kabab terbialy. We opted for dessert, and went with the cream stuffed atayef. Everything was delicious; I was particularly impressed with how well each dish was seasoned and the tenderness of the meats. It was hard for me to determine what was my favorite, but I would say the sausages and the grilled pita were the best if I had to choose. The atayef had the making to be heavy, but was surprisingly not and proved to be a great finisher. I really only scratched the surface here - the menu is really extensive so I feel you can make several trips and consistently try something new. Service was great, we leaned on our waiter to make some recommendations regarding the amount and combo of dishes to get and he really came through. Overall, I had a great experience at Le Petit Alep - definitely worth checking out.
