Straw & Bubbles Tea Bar is for sure my daughter's go to when she has a taste for boba/bubble tea or…read moreramen. She has been there with friends as well as myself multiple times. (I wish they had a loyalty program or punch card of sorts for her because of her affinity to the store!) Last night, she had a taste for bubble tea so we took her after dinner and we had some pleasant surprises in our drink choices! My boyfriend got the Cookies and Cream milkshake with oat milk ('cause dairy) and it was thick, delicious, and had a strong ratio of milk to cookie in it. Last time my parents took my daughter, I tried a Coconut Purple Berry tea and added tapioca. It is tea, coconut milk, and like, chunks of guava--delicious. I can tell you my daughter's go to is a Taro Milkshake which is milk and taro blended--very delicious! The presentation is appealing--it looks like white clouds in a purple sky. Other drinks I have tried include their galaxy lemon tea, a sort of ocean lemonade (?), etc. My daughter also lives for their croffles--I know she has had matcha, tiramisu, plain, etc. Last night's choice was matcha and there was not a crumb left in the box. Ordering is easy on the kiosk, and the staff is quiet, but friendly. I have been there with different sized groups at different times of day, and the food, drinks, and service are always consistent. Sometimes it's packed, sometimes it's not. Driving back home, I wanted to yell at all the youths in that green siren logoed coffee shop to drink something better across the parking lot, but I did not. I hope Straw & Bubbles continues to find Mount Prospect to be a good home!

They have ALOT to choose from with bowls on the spot so you can enjoy there. You order through the Kiosk so it makes it easy to look at all the sweats and drinks they have. We also got a plain croffle that went perfect with our drinks but will be back to try other treats they have!

Food was very good. I had a chicken kebab and my husband had the beyti kabab. If I rated based on…read morejust food, it would be 4.5! I was a quite disappointed because we went on Saturday at 6:30pm and they were completely out of all pide, ezme, haydari, and the pickles so the menu was pretty limited. We ended up ordering fries as an appetizer since that's all they had. The entrees also said they come with bulgar and rice but we did not have any bulgar on our dish..it also said we should have roasted peppers and onions, which were not on our dish either. I assume they were out of all of those? We really wanted hummus but it was not on the menu. When we finished our meal, we noticed the table behind us had hummus... it would have been nice to know they had hummus. Also, we really wanted to try the manti but did not see it on the menu. At the end of the meal, my husband wanted a coffee and the waitress said there was no coffee and the machine was broke. Service was ok. Waitress forgot our drink. Not very attentive. Dining area is small but cute. They are planning to expand the dining area so there really isn't much of a market anymore. Prices are pretty high in comparison to most Turkish/middle eastern restaurants. They do give you yummy bread and Babaganoush. I want to try it again in hopes that other menu items are available.

When I entered I knew it was going to be good. Plenty of housemade breads and cakes throughout the shop. The ladies were super nice and accommodating. In and out in no time. You could sit inside to hangout too. I went with the slice of chocolate raspberry and the pistachio chocolate tart. Chocolate raspberry slice was very moist and full of raspberry with every bite. The pistachio chocolate tart had a fluffy and creamy top with a not too dense tart. Perfect bite every time. Well worth the stop!

That alone was worth the five stars. The pastries were ok, but they wouldn't be the reason I stopped here. They sell bread and I'd be interested in trying that, but what I'm really looking forward to is paczki day--it's an old school Polish bakery, and I expect they know how to do a good paczki! They aren't just a grab-and-go place; they have several tables around and they have some food beyond the pastries. I saw them preparing a sandwich or two, and they had some pepperoni pizza and savory pastries when I was here. There's no dedicated lot, but there's street parking all around as well as a municipal lot or nearby and it's kiddy-corner from the Des Plaines Metra station.

Located in a strip mall, there is ample free parking. Staff is unassuming, professional and helpful, willing to help with any menu questions. We opted to share a lamb pizza, a tomato and cucumber salad and a meat tray. All were excellent, plenty of food. The pita was excellent. The tea at the end was lovely. The pistachio crumble latte is still one of my favorites -- creamy, flavorful, and comforting. If you prefer stronger coffee, I'd definitely recommend adding an extra shot. The pogacha with beef and the burek were both delicious, rich, and full of flavor. I also tried the pistachio cheesecake, and it was absolutely delicious -- just as good as I remembered. I was a little disappointed with the Dubai chocolate cheesecake this time though. It didn't even look the same as before, and the pistachio paste tasted less natural than I remembered. The service was good, everyone was friendly, and I'll definitely come back again.
