This stationery station has everything you need for writing, drawing, stamping, sealing, journaling, and diary-writing needs, plus a healthy selection of gifts for every aspiring author, artist, playwright and screenwriter, including enough accessories and décor and to wallpaper an artists' studio many times over! If a fancy pen and an empty journal excite you, Paper-Ya is your mecca!

Perfect store. Seriously perfect. I am a sucker for a great paper store, but heir buyer has seriously amazing taste. With several container options and towers of paper, it is a small store, but a great one. They have creative books, hard cover and soft cover journals, knick-knacks and more. I wish they had a greater pen selection, but that is just because I have an unhealthy obsession with finding the perfect super-inky pen. The downside of being on Granville Island is that this shop may get passed by. I missed it several times, after being pulled to the magic and wonder of the market and more obvious shops. Do yourself a favor and get here. You won't regret it.

Paper Ya is exquisite! I needed outstanding paper for my letter to H.M the King of Thailand, and here I found just the thing! The perfect final touch to weeks of consideration and thought... thank you for the icing on the cake, so to speak! Love, BKM

I could have spent an hour minimum there looking at everything. Sadly I was visiting from out of town and had a bunch of other spots to hit so I gathered a few goodies to purchase and continued on my way. The ladies were very friendly and very helpful. There were christmas cards and stationary for the holidays. I will definitely stop by if I am in town again! Favorite shop of Granville Island!

If your looking that perfect, original card for that special someone.. this is the place to go. Especially if you have no idea what to get for this person, this place will make you want to buy everything in it. It technically is everything to do with paper and pretty accesories that make letter writing activies and DIY fun and exciting. I basically just want to touch everything in this store.

While the joy's of Paper-Ya have been mentioned here once or twice, my sentiments of this store are nevertheless, joyful! I like to set myself apart from the masses, but how can I go against the truth? Paper-Ya is the definitive store for all of your creative, writing and paper needs, as well as being a supplier of quirky items from all over the world. I have a bit of an obsession with purchasing (or being gifted, ahem) beautiful journals and I have no qualms with wanting to spend what might appear to be absurd amounts of money on a writing tome. Paper-Ya offers up some of the more unique journals from around the world, whether they be bound in metallic leathers, quirky designs or have held the words of the greats (the entire line of Moleskin sketchbooks and journals are available), you are likely to find something that will hold your words and designs with style. Paper-Ya also carries, prepare yourself, paper! We're not talking about computer printing paper here, but all sorts of natural, Japanese, decorative and Origami papers. You can even buy supplies to make your own paper, an art that I am not familiar with but I imagine to be deeply satisfying and interesting. Should you be planning a wedding soon, Paper-Ya has many options for invitations, as well as beautiful guest books in various sizes. Anything you may need for book binding is also available here, along with rubber stamps, punch-out stamps and everything to make unique wax seals. Paper-Ya is a gem and absolutely worth a gander should you be in the area and if you're not, make a special trip!

Goods are well-designed and exquisite. Hope there are not so many people. Crowded but yup cuz it is popular. If not so will be wonderful.

It sort of helps keeping an eye on the kids to make sure they're in a certain area. Nice! They have a nice selection of fountain pens, including Kaweco, Sailor, Pilot. Tempted on some of the Sailor pens, but I ended up getting another Kaweco pen with an inverter. They also have inks, of course. Loved the selection of Jellycats and Amuseables. I didn't end up getting any (this time around), but we'll see. Lots of great fun quality gifts you can get at this store. The staff was great! One specific employee helped me out the most, and was able to find me the last of the stock of the specific pen I wanted, and answered all of the questions that hubby and I had. Very appreciative of her kindness. Prices were fair. Across the street is Buchan (another stationery store), but their selection of pens/inks are slightly different. Would come back.

A line forms quick so be sure to get there early, or you can grab a ticket for the next seating. The staff are so nice in explaining how to use the typewriter. What a cute shop!…read more This is a bit of a belated post, as we visited back in August. BUT, I wanted to delay the review because we ended up using one of their fun services, and I wanted to make sure we received the product in the end. So, hubby and I were casually walking down this street to window-shop, and noticed this shop (there's also a chance that hubby notated this shop down in his notes because they sell stationery, and we love stationery, sooo, there's that possibility). Walked in, was warmly greeted, and we perused what they had. Lots of creative juices flowing in there and great inspiration for one to take some of their stuff to create your own artistic visions. The main item that we did with them was to send a postcard back to ourselves, but sort of by "telegraph" (the postal service). We actually wrote out the postcard to our future selves, and they typed it out on a real typewriter, pasted it nicely onto the wooden postcard, and shipped it out to us internationally. We got it around two weeks later (Vancouver to California), and it was packaged in a nice padded brown envelope so it wasn't damaged along the way. It's now sitting on one of our travel/memento shelves! Would love to make another visit whenever we come back to Vancouver. Seriously, whenever there's a fun or unique service/experience, it's so nice to try it out; it's a gift for your future selves!
