I've been into a fair few newsagents as part of being a Yelper. Some are great. Others are…read moreunremarkable. M.S. Saleemi, on Seafield Road East is one of those. I went in to pick up a quick snack to fuel some more time researching businesses. The range of products on offer was much like all of the other newsagents I've seen. The inside just felt a bit dingy. It could have had something to do with the fact that it was raining outside, but I just found it to be a bit gloomy on the inside. That said, the proprietors were friendly and served me in an efficient manner. This newsagent's location probably doesn't do it many favours - it's located quite a way before Portobello's main shopping parade. I imagine it would get a fair bit of passing trade from Lothian Bus drivers, with one of their depots being virtually next door. Average was the overriding feeling here.

This is a really odd shop that mainly stocks snacks that you would find in a cinema foyer at cinema…read moreprices. Expect to pay nearly £3.00 for pringle's. Slow service and not many staff to serve, not a place to shop if you are trying to catch a bus, as the chance's are that you will miss it.

I had to buy a toothbrush from there yesterday which I managed somehow to forget at the till and the lady was too busy and left the till immediately after I paid, so I ended up home without it and with no energy to go back and pick it up:-( I'll see if today the other staff can assist with this issue. The usual stuff: magazines, comfort food, alcohol, soft drinks, some house stuff etc.
