I had a last minute print job with special sizing, and was at the end of my rope trying to print from home. I came into the Solana Beach Staples store, frazzled and with very low expectations, but I shouldn't have been worried. I was greeted with a 'Welcome' and a friendly smile, and then Natalie got to work trying to understand my project. Turns out she not only understood what was needed, but got to work right away. She was so very patient with me and helpful. Needless to say, the printing project turned out a lot better than anything I could do at home. Are you pulling your hair out with a project? I…read morewent to the front because there was no line at the time and I have been stuck in long ones before. The person working the register got my order id and then hands me a receipt. He was not trained to confirm the details about the amount of my return. Unfortunately I was only given back the value of 60 % the cost of the item online and 50% of the cost in store. The month before this I had placed an online order that never arrived so part of my purchase was using a credit, but not the kind of credit that requires a minimum purchase. So I asked if I could exchange the item instead and he called a manager who was not interested in even listening and she called some 800 number and handed the phone to me. If the employee had confirmed the amount of the return I would have been able to do an exchange, but his failure to do that cost me money. And the manager was unwilling to cancel the return so I left without my pencil sharpener and lost the credit that they gave me for failing to deliver my order. This is not a lot of money, but i expent cashiers to be competent and I expect managers to train them. The store manager was awful, did not care about the customer and took no responsibility for running the store.

Today after something like 5 years, the pneumatic lift cylinder either failed or started acting up and I called them about getting it serviced. I brought it in right away and within 10 minutes they had fixed the chair and told me "no charge". I was more than happy to pay for the repair, but they told me it wasn't necessary. That's amazing service. If I ever need another office chair, I'd shop here first, they have an amazing selection of really nice refurbished top-quality options.
