We had had Tapas in Germany a few years back and loved it so when I found this place we decided to brave the natives :-). First off two of their wait staff spoke English and were very attentive and friendly. We started to order too much, not knowing that German small plates are still enough to feed a family of six as opposed to US small plates which can be bird food, but the waiter stopped us and suggested we wait to see if we wanted more. After dates and bacon, calamari, torta, and salad, we were stuffed! All was perfectly prepared, and the bill was very reasonable. Despite the fact that tipping rules here are quite different, we were happy to tip our very friendly and attentive servers what we would tip in the U.S. for a great meal. Can't wait to go back!

From the owner: Oerscher Hof: Ein Werk von Schlaun…read more Auch wenn es sich nicht hundertprozentig belegen lässt, so spricht doch vieles dafür, dass der Oerscher Hof ein Werk von Johann Conrad Schlaun (1695 - 1773) ist. Die Fachleute sind sich jedenfalls sicher, das der Oerscher Hof vom großen westfälischen Barockbaumeister stammt, der in Diensten des Fürstbischofs und Kurfürsten Clemens August in Münster auch das Schloss, den Erbdrostenhof und die Clemenskirche entwarf. 1748 wurde der Oersche Hof für den Freiherrn Nikolaus Herman Joseph von Beverfoerde errichtet. Dem zweigeschossigen, vierachsigen Backsteinbau wurde 1798 ein Anbau mit Tordurchfahrt hinzugefügt. Durch eine Erbschaft fiel der Hof später an die Familie der Freiherren von Oer. 1976 übernahm der münsterische Verleger Wolfgang Hölker das Gebäude und ließ es restaurieren. Seitdem gehört der Oersche Hof zu den prominenten Restaurants in der münsterischen Altstadt.

Tomato soup was actually quite good. Fast and very friendly service. I was there quite late (around 9:30 pm) and I saw many young people/couples having drinks. Maybe good place for a date night :)
