This location of DESPAR is right by the Rialto Bridge. This is one of the markets we stopped by for affordable water on our trip to Venice and purchased a few liters to stay hydrated as we explored the city. ( water, bread, yoghurt, forks and spoons, etc) Fun fact: If you buy fruit, you should weigh it first and put the price sticker on it. Then take it to the cash register. The isles are a bit too narrow and the store is full of shoppers who are not always mindful of others.

Like I said, it's a smaller shop, a bit narrow to get through and mostly very busy. But they got pretty much everything on stock that you might need. Got some good beef, milk, soda, water, wine, veggies and some snacks/desserts here. They also got a counter in the back with meat and cheese as well as some products like meatballs, arancini and more (hot or cold). The quality is all there and the prices very fair. Staff does a great job and queues are moving quite fast. It really has a lot more than it looks like from outside. All the basic needs and more. And it's popular with both tourists and locals. Surely a great place to shop your groceries.

Service: efficient but no self service register here. - Gluttony Expedition - I bought snacks, water bottles, drinks, cheese, cured meats for lunch etc. Genetic but we don't always need something fancy or authentic. - Conqueror's Deduction - I know you can buy snacks and water bottles at souvenir stores and cafes. But it's usually EU 1. Here's a big bottle water for EU 0.25 instead of 1. There's no 7/11 like convenient stores nor Walmart here. Supermarkets like these are the best thing you got here! Super convenient!
