But after asking my tour guide how, I went back and successfully bought them. Very nice store and the prices seemed good to me. They had some pre-made food and sushi as well although I did not try any of that.

MPreis overall is a great store with very high quality fruit and vegs, great bread, excellent meat, cold cuts, meat, dairy, etc; they have a nice wine selection. There are many Mpreis's in Tirol and all the ones I've shopped in are consistantly good, some larger than others and some with rather distinctive architecture. This store has saved us many times on a Sunday when guests are coming and we are out of something.

My only issue is that if I go in for one or two things I come out with twenty. It can be a one stop shopping experiencing or you could blow your budget. A couple tips... If you decide to do the self checkout make sure to keep your receipt handy. You will need the bar code on the receipt to get out of the electric swinging bar. Also, if you bring your own bags you won't have to pay extra to use theirs.

The check-out lines can get long. Prices are decent. Plenty of free parking in front of the store. They charge for shopping bags as most stores do in Europe.
