My favorite bakery here in La Paz. I love conchas in the morning. The hubby and I come to La Paz often to go fishing and I like make a stop here on our first day here to get bakery items for the next couple of days. Nothing beats fresh bakery goods for the am drive to our fishing spot. Our kids love the doughnuts, I prefer the conchas with some tea. Hubby likes the bread with ham with jalapeno cream cheese inside (this one is out most expensive item at $13 pesos. The doughnuts are $8 pesos for the ones with just chocolate on top. The doghnuts are HUGE. As big as my hand huge. The conchas are soft and not sweet. They go perfectly jwith a cup of Early Grey.
The bakery itself if nice, open, and clean. When you first go in, you get a tray and some tongs on your right side by the register. Please use the tongs to get items from the shelves. Also close the doors to the bins well so that they don't get stale. You then take your tray to the register and pay. She will wrap/bag your items as appropriate and you are on your way. I bought 3 conchas, one cuernito, one doughnut, and one ham with jalapeno bread. Total was $49 pesos. read more
