Got to give this place 3 stars. I appreciate that their menu has expanded over time and has some good options. The reason I don't give it five stars is because of the drive thru, the amount of time it takes for someone to take my order when there is only two other cars in the drive thru is just infuriating. After this year alone, I don't think I've poured into a business more than I have with Panera! The variety of the menu and perks of the rewards app def keep me hooked!! This particular location I frequent quite often because it's most convenient for me. Most of the staff I encounter all the time are always super sweet, super kind and pleasant As probably one of the most popular "fast food" places in town, it's certainly understandable that they are busy often. My issue isn't that the wait-time for food can be long at times ... because that's normal and will happen everywhere... I just wish I could trust and rely on NOT hoping I'll have to unfold the avocado slices of my sandwich in the first few paper-folds of me unwrapping my sandwich..... :/ Like probably... 9/10 times I Can accurately anticipate receiving a sandwich or food that looks like it was tossed... stuffed... smashed together and sloppily prepared. And then having to try and assemble it back together every.time... it just worsens the mess & makes for an unpleasant experience :( If my schedule will allow.. I'll even take the time to drive out further to a different location in a distant city where service is consistent because I know I'm bouta eat some bombbb food Anddd my modifications or whatever were clearly noticed .. I recently joined the coffee subscription but I think I will be canceling due to the way I get my coffee at the drive thru. They put the cream and sugar in a bag, not in the actual coffee. I like to enjoy my coffee on my commute to Sacramento but the only way I can do that with Panera is if I go inside to order or pull over and add the milk and sugar myself. It makes a mess in my car and hot coffee gets all over. I've never seen any drive thru serve coffee with the milk and sugar separately as a side. Even McDonalds adds them for you. Recently during lunchtime, I got the full Turkey Sandwich with extra emerald greens, extra spicy mustard, extra mayonnaise, and left out the red onions. It came with chips. I also ordered a kid-sized Chicken Noodle soup, that came with strawberry yogurt. All of the food was tasty. Panera Bread is a bit pricier compared to other food spots. We love the Chipotle Chicken Avocado melt. Since having it the first time a week ago we've had it three times! It's a delicious sandwich. It gets five stars. Now, the reason I am rating this visit a three is because the restaurant is a mess. We cleaned our own tables. Outside the trash is overflowing, inside the tables are aren't clean and the floor is a mess, the ladies bathroom was amazingly clean but it was out of paper towels. Our cashier was great. I asked her if they were short-handed and she said her coworker was on a break. I can't imagine that only one person would be responsible for cleaning this place plus how long is the break. Easily the worst sandwich buying experience I've ever had. No one should have to wait over 20 min for a sandwich. When I finally just asked for my money back, they still charged me almost $4 for the drink somehow. A complete rip off. At most Panera's you only have to wait 10 min if they're busy. I like the deals that Panera has & how their food is always healthy and freshly prepped. Im always getting their sanwhich & soup combos. My favorite is their blt & tomato basil. I have loved Panera Bread and over the years probably go nearly once a week in many locations. Today my friend and I went through the drive through and she asked the order taker to check her rewards. He said she had $1 off a U-Pick2 and a free dessert. We ordered a U-Pick2, a margarita pizza, and a pecan braid for dessert. Got the food, took it home looked at the menu and hadn't been given the reward. I went right back after eating lunch and spoke to a manager who said nothing could be done and gave me the number for corporate customer service. I called the number and explained my issue and once again was told nothing could be done. I asked for a supervisor and was told none were available. I usually order on the Panera app and my Rapid Pick-Up order is never ever ready. I always have to go up to the register and ask about my order. My order is almost always coffee, so that's why I don't understand how hard it is to place a coffee cup on the rapid pick-up shelf. In addition to not having my rapid pick-up order on time, they're not very attentive with their coffee dispensers. There have been a couple times where the Hazelnut roast coffee dispenser was empty and after notifying them they always would say that they have not brewed another batch yet. Had to wait 15 minutes last time. I think not having my coffee cup ready on the rapid pick-up shelf every single time and having to regularly deal with an empty coffee dispenser right after obtaining said coffee cup kind of ruins the whole point of "Rapid Pick-Up." One of my go toos!! They have these yummy Mediterranean and Baja bowls that are healthy, satisfying and tasty. They are always busy at lunch but you can place an order through the app so you can just run in and pick up. There sweet treats aren't bad either.
