SERIOUSLY, stop asking for tips at the register! This is tantamount to being seen as a cheapskate if I say no. It feels like I'm being extorted. I get my own drink, I walk back up to the counter to get my food, and I bus my own table. No offense to the teenagers behind the counter, but what extra value are they providing? You make my food. That's kinda the whole idea behind a restaurant, and I pay what you ask for the food. Maybe if employees commonly stopped by my table to offer a drink refill or ask how my meal was, I'd be inclined to leave a couple extra bucks, but that certainly doesn't happen. In fact, it's much more common that I have to hunt for a table that has been wiped down and is without the last patron's crumbs. Panera is expensive! If employees need/deserve higher wages, it's on you Panera. read more

UNSANITARY! Black hair found BAKED into my food. From the bakery, the lil rhubarb strawberry rectangle pastry thing had a 4 inch long hair baked into the first few bites. If you're already vomiting in your mouth I'm sorry but this was my life on a regular Wednesday, starving and wanting some noms..ugh It was beyond revoltingly disgusting. The server & manager were sweet, but it's not her fault someone in the kitchen/bakery is not covering up fully. I cannot believe how often this happens in Florida. Seriously since we moved down here from the Midwest, I have unfortunate unsanitary experiences like this more frequently than seems to be "a rare occasion" as afterwards I am assured "this never happens". And I know it's not my light hair/rainbow hair. So grossed out. The only deserving of some stars is for the is because sometimes they get it right... not often..and good luck finding a parting spot in this tiny parking lot for ants. I am still so frustrated. Again, hubris is the undoing of once a giant. I used to LOVE Panera bread and be one of its faithful followers. I work out across the street from this location and it was convenient to pick up something prior to returning to work. Can not tell you how many times things were not right. Quality of the food. Orders not correct. It just kept on happening over and over until I realized I can't continue to spend my money there. I know Panera has ventured into eliminating preservatives and artificial dyes from their food. That I applaud wholeheartedly. But during this transition they have lost adding flavor to their food. The chicken rice soup and their chicken noodle soup are so bland that I wonder if they had banned salt. Ordered chili once and it was pitiful and it was expensive. Wendy's had a more satisfying chili. Now luckily, their tomato soup is still my favorite and always a sure bet. They've also implemented this self service ordering which has eliminated most of the cashiers. There is only two during lunch. Chaos ensues. I do like the philosophy and charitable work Panera does but I think they need to pay attention to what is happening to their house because in the long run Panera will end up in pantheon of places like TGIF, Bennigan's, and many more that were once might giants and now either gone or a place you drive by and say "Oh that is still in business? I haven't eaten at a Panera's in a year or more. This one just happens to be convenient to where I am located. Got my order to go. For a sandwich I got the bacon turkey bravo and for the side I got the mac & cheese. The sandwich was good but seem to be a little light, the mac & cheese always awesome! My favorite part of the meal is the baguette. I love their warm bread with a ton of butter! Not good for you and not low in carbs but taste really great! The cashier was not really friendly and seemed to be a little preoccupied. All in all this experience was better than the last time I ate at a Panera's. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Panera Bread since 2008 in Temecula California and then Des Moines Iowa. I always made a point to locate a store wherever I travelled. I recently moved to St Petersburg and live in the Feather Sound area and this location has consistently provided the worst service and poorest quality of food I have ever experienced. The staff is about as enthusiastic as people attending a funeral of a loved one. I have left there every time feeling as though my presence was an imposition on their day. I hope this is not the standard for all Paneras in the area. read more

Eeeek what a soppy mess! I don't know what happen Panera but order #122609236 was a mess of an order... my soup fell out of the bottom of the paper bag... Ok it happens... My tomato basil flat bread was also wet and slimey, the cheese wasn't melted and there was n't any basil on it... there was a ton of arugula though... I ended up putting the cheese in My Soup. This is a great Panera. They get super slammed at lunch but every employee seems to know what they're doing so this location handles a crowd well. I love their food in general and have never had bad food from this, or any other Panera location come to think of it. Minus one star because the parking situation, IS a situation at lunch and can be a problem. The layout of the parking lot in general is weird and too small. read more

I was attending a conference in Clearwater this past week, and made a habit of stopping each morning at the Panera Bread on Ulmerton for a cup of hot tea. I generally avoid chain eateries, but there's not much else located in this neighborhood, so you just pick and choose carefully. Panera is located in the Feather Sound area just opposite the Carillon office park. The store is easy to spot, although parking can be a real bear. If you happen to turn the wrong way when leaving the parking lot you can plan on an extended tour of the Feather Sound area as you weave your way back around. The inside of the store is long and narrow, and during peak times there is a wait for an open table. To your right as you walk through the front door you'll see the café area with high tops and bar stools. These seats seem to fill up very quickly with people who've brought their laptops and tablets, and are enjoying access to the free WiFi. To your left are the tables, and during lunchtime there is generally a wait for an open seat. In the back left corner is the "Community Room" which can be closed off for group meetings, but otherwise stands open as another seating area. The ordering counter is L-shaped with the breakfast sandwiches, pastries, coffee and tea ordered from the shorter leg of the L, and the lunch and dinner counter located along the longer leg of the counter. The morning rush seems to move quickly as people are ordering bagels and pastries along with their beverage of choice and zipping back out the door. The breakfast sandwiches take a bit longer so those people stand off to the side and wait. This seems like a typical Panera Bread in terms of their selection and speed of service, but I docked them for not cleaning the tables in between patrons and for the horrific fiasco of a parking lot. read more

I am a regular here at Panera, it is basically the McDonald's for adults. They have sandwiches, soup, and salads. Everything is pretty good, and they have very good baked goods. I give it 4/5 because some times the sandwiches are just not that great, I've had some that were tinny and some greasy but overall I enjoy my experience here. read more

Panera has the most delicious bagels you will ever eat. Their Asiago breakfast sandwich is to die for as well. It's on a Asiago cheese bagel with Applewood smoked bacon Vermont white cheddar and egg and it tastes like a piece of heaven. The service is also exceptional and really quick. I know panera also does a lot of charity work which makes me like them even more. However, I am not a fan of their lunch and dinners. I like to eat and the portions aren't enough for me. My husband and I went in Saturday night (5/2/15) just to purchase a few bakery items to go. We waited at the counter for a bit when a girl came over and said they were closed. I explained we didn't want to eat there, we just wanted to pick up some baked goods. She said we couldn't. The doors were completely unlocked and there were several tables of people still eating, plus a TON of baked goods still available. I don't understand what would have been so difficult about selling us a few muffins and cookies and then letting us be on our way. Perhaps the employees get to take home what doesn't sell? This is a panera I frequent and it is the same as any Panera. Good service and good food. The grilled cheese sandwich may be for the kids but with a bowl of soup it is delish! I do find this to be a more fancy version of Panera as it is near feathersound. Great place to go for a friendly get together or just to get some work done. read more

It is a Panera and the food quality is consistent with the other ones I've been to. I will say that I was impressed with the friendly staff and quick service. On a busy lunch day, they handled everything with ease and a smile. The tables were cleaned quickly and food was prepared promptly. It is a large store and there is a lot of seating, including outside seating for the 3 months in Florida that sitting outside sounds like a good idea. Salads are fresh and the lettuce is crisp. Bread comes hot out of the oven often since they stay so busy. All in all, a nice Panera. Parking seems to be a huge issue. I circled for several minutes before finding a spot. I'm sure I'll go back but not at the height of the lunch rush. read more

Panera is always a hit with my family. The "You Pick 2" combos always work out well, and everyone gets a variety. My mom was pleased that she was able to use her rewards by entering her phone # (even though we're from Cali), but she was very displeased that the bakery reward item wouldn't be brought out with the meal. She had to walk over to a separate counter to get it, and wait until someone came to the counter. Definitely a lack of customer service there. I love their teas! As I sit here at this Panera Bread I write this review about the disappointment of our visit. First of all I'm not sure why they don't have Wild Rice soup all the time. Second of all the French bread we got with our soup was cold and hard. Then finally I had ordered a bowl of soup n the amount of soup I got was the equivalent of that in a cup of soup which is $1 less. If I ask for a bowl is cause I want more soup not the same amount as a cup size n pay more. This is ridiculous n will not come back to this location. read more

The employees were very nice, I waited maybe 15 seconds in line, 1 person took my order and the other bagged my items and I was out the door in a matter of minutes. This used to be a great Panera! About 3-4 years ago it just started going down hill. The drive through NEVER gets an order right! Today we ordered a grilled cheese sandwich - it was an open face broiled grilled cheese with the two broiled pieces folded together into a sandwich. Horrible! The Fuji apple chicken salad had absolutely NO fuji apple pieces on it. Just ridiculous. We won't ever go there again. We've been going there regularly for the past 11 years! My company placed a large order yesterday and although the service was prompt I must say my sandwich was soggy and the avocado was overripe to the point it was black. It was horrible. Headed for a long business lunch with some colleagues after a customer meeting - needed somewhere with wifi that wouldn't be cranky when we sat for 2+ hours. This place was the only restaurant within 10 minutes that we could think of that could fit the bill. We arrived a bit after 11, and the place was fairly dead. We grabbed a table and got to work...about 30 minutes later, the place was hopping! Around 12:30, it did start to calm back down. They did deal with the crowds very well. They hadn't run out of any soups when I went to place my order (this always happens to me at Panera, so that was a nice bonus!). The register staff were friendly. After ordering, our four meals popped up around 7 minutes later (missing the sandwich for one colleague - boo!). And everything was tasty. They had staff coming around picking up plates, a nice touch. I'd definitely go back on my next visit. Just remember that the parking lot isn't really large enough to hold the lunch rush, so you may have to circle around a few times before you find a spot. read more

Extremely frustrated. I put my order through the Panera app at 11:00am. At 11:30 I get a text from both Panera and door dash that my order has arrived. It's now 12:00pm and I still haven't received my order. I call the Panera location and explain to an associate my situation. She tells me she's going to get her Maher so she can help me. I'm placed on hold for 15 minutes, still with no answer. I hang up and call the location again. The manager immediately answers and says "oh, was I supposed to get that" at this point I'm so annoyed. She says there's nothing she can do besides have me come drive to get the order. I'm sorry but I don't have a vehicle to come get the order, that's the reason I paid $5 to have it delivered. She then says she'll call door dash and she'll call me back with an answer. She doesn't call me back until 1:00pm and then goes into detail about how frustrated she is dealing with door dash. She tells me to the replace my order, meaning I have to pay $25 again... I'm so annoyed. She was so rude and spoke so unprofessional. She says she'll throw in a cookie for my troubles... yay lucky me I'm a loyal Panera customer and this makes me never want to get Panera again. I pay the high cost because the food is usually good and comes before two hours of ordering. When the associate is nicer and more understanding of your frustration than the manager of the location somethings not right. read more

It also has a seperate meeting room that can rented for $50. - 2hours, $20, ea. hr after that, what you purchase for food goes againt the fee. read more

I love Panera Bread, there food is always good and I order their food at least 1 time per week with my co-workers. However, the customer service sucks. I was on the phone speaking with Emily who is a manager there, the phone disconnected and rather thank attempting to call back, she walks away!!! The driver inistially wne to the wrong location and expected a tip. He was about 5 minutes late with no apology for his poor service. I spoke with Emily yet again to complain and she says, " we'll try to fix it". In the past, small things would be wrong and they have always fixed it. I paid almost $7 for delivery. This is the most overpriced restaurant for pre-prepared food. I ordered the Turkey chilli just to try something hot from the menu. My large size was no more than a 8 oz cup of beans because I couldn't even find any ground turkey in the turkey chilli. Instead of bread, I chose an apple. If I could give them a -4 I would. the orders never correct they put one sixteenth of an ounce of meat on your sandwich, give you the wrong bread there's no vegetables on it it's just horrible I've given him two tries and I'm done. The pricing is too expensive for what you get I suggest to go to Subway they actually put meat on their sandwiches and their soups better and it's much cheaper. read more

The only reason i'm giving 3 stars is the fact that they now have started asking at checkout if you want to tip the crew. I'm sorry, but no, I don't! No one tips me for doing my job, and I find it a little bothersome to be put in a position to tip or not. I take very good care of my waitstaff and bartenders at restaurants, but this is a little much. We use thier rental room for our monthly meetings. I'm not in charge of payments, but I know that our reciepts for dinner are counted against any outstanding charges. Quick service when we are there, but generally have to ask others to leave even when the room is reserved. read more
