She knew exactly when to let me be- reading to myself- and somehow noticed the moment that I needed something and was at my side asking how she could help . The highlight of Lox Deli definitely is the in-house bakery they have and its one of the best bagels I gave had in the city. It's relatively empty on Saturday mornings, so you can sit down and have a relaxed & savoury breakfast - the service is attentive, not pushy. I haven't seen big groups in here for breakfast - it's generally couples or single people and they do allow pets on the patio area. The menu is full of healthy salads, soups and tardiness for lunch and lots of egg or bread basket options for breakfast. One of my favorite Brazilian inspired options for lunch or breakfast is the Tapioca - a small crepe often sold y street vendors and made of special tapioca flakes that I have only had in Brazil. There is a sweet option and a savory option. Both are tasty and a great way to try a Brazilian favorite with a gourmet twist. As with all Le Pain's the coffee and juices are awesome and made fresh. They also cater and would be a great option for a corporate event.

For my entree I ordered the Nicoise Salad (green leaves, cucumber, artichoke, organic tomato, Dutch pod, green peppers, roasted potatoes, black olives, white beans, boiled egg and tuna). I really loved this salad. It was abundant in its ingredients, making for a salad that won't leave you hungry. I took a long time to visit Z Deli because people always said the space was too small and always crowded. Besides that, there ir no air conditioning, which can be pretty annoying in SP's summer. That's why the restaurant doesn't get a 5-star rating. But going back to the delicious part of this review, the burger is truly amaaaaazing! I ordered one called Minetta which has cheddar cheese and caramelized onion. The meat was exaclty medium well as ordered and bread was slightly crunchy with a little taste of butter. LOVED IT. The pastrami sandwich was little bit dry, wasn't that into it. Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of fois gras, so I didn't get the famous foie gras burger. However, all of my friends that tried really really really liked it. The regular fries are great! Crunchy and not at all oily :) the fat fries are good, but they get kinda soaked in the sauce, so I prefered the other ones. There's also the pink lemonade, which I thought was bit sweet since it contains "groselha", a really sweet Brazilian drink. I often go back to Z Deli, but try to go on not so busy hours or just get a take out :)
