A fee friends told me about this place, and since I was craving Chinese food I had to try it! The lady was really nice and answered questions that I had. I got the combo sweet and sour chicken with steamed rice. The combo included an egg roll and wonton. It was definitely a good price for the food! My chicken was delicious, and I couldn't even finish the rice as there was so much! The egg roll was really good too. I definitely want to come back and try their lunch specials.

I got the chicken and broccoli. I already knew it wasn't going to be the same as I usually get but k was very disappointed. White sauce, and mostly broccoli and carrots. I'm serious, it was like. 70/30 ratio and it cost 20 bucks for that and a small rice. It was ok, but I'm not coming back here again.

This little mom and pop spot is legit. Simple decor with pictures of the dishes posted up everywhere. You know it's gonna be good. The Salt and pepper wings are on par with some of the other restaurants. The Mongolian Beef was also very tasty. They have a good balance of beef to veggie ratio. With a price point of $7.99 for the lunch special ($10 and some change with chow mein and rice) this place moves up in my rankings of Chinese food spots. With most restaurants raising prices due to inflation or what not. It's nice to have a meal with prices from 2001. Overall, a good low key restaurant to get your Salt and Pepper chicken craving filled.

Great food and kind service. Lunch specials are the size of a dinner!! We had shrimp with lobster sauce--At least a dozen plump moist shrimp. Delish. And the popular salt and pepper chicken wings. They are listed as spicy and I'm a wimp for spiciness but I did not think they were too spicy. Again, generous serving, moist chicken. Inside there is plenty of seating. Highly recommend!

I was craving some pan-fried noodles and so I came in to try their version. As I entered, there was no one in the restaurant, customers or employees. I saw and heard one man in the kitchen cooking and waited patiently at the front to order my food. I waited for several minutes without even a single greeting. The cook glanced at me and I thought he was going to call someone to help me but uh nope. I started to get uncomfortable but then some lady came to help me. She was an older woman with no communication skills. She took my order, I paid and then found a table. The food did come fast as I was the only customer in the restaurant. Food quality was acceptable. The noodles were mid and nothing to write home about. The service and environment was also mid, nothing spectacular. I noticed that the yelp menus were not updated online and so did not reflect current pricing (inflation prices) so I took a pic of their current menu and prices to help everyone out.

We had called in the order and the lady with the heavy accent on the phone was pleasant and sweet. Pick up was quick and easy. The food was delicious, especially the honey walnut shrimp, which was big, crispy, and perfectly glazed. The salt and pepper squid was just okay and could have been crunchier. I came here on November 20, 2023. I ordered shrimp fried rice. The food was fresh. I must say that it was not seasoned but I like that I was able to add soy sauce to my own liking. I will definitely return here. The pricing was great! The lady who took my order was very nice. I was told that my order would be ready in 10 minutes but it seemed like it was done within 5 minutes. The restaurant was clean and wasn't crowded. The menu selection was great. I can't wait to return to try out other dishes.

Before living & working in this area, the be all, end all Chinese food place for me was Royal Mandarin. Now, its Panda Chef! My favorite dish is the Salt & Pepper chicken nuggets, but everything is at the level of Royal Mandarin or better in terms of taste (from what I have tasted). If youre ever in Eastlake, give it a try! read more

The staff is so friendly...I've been coming for years and they are still here because their food continues to have the same great flavor and quality. They still deliver and they're fast! I swear they are psychic or something. Seems like they already know what you're going to order because the food is out almost as soon as you're done ordering. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the food from Panda Chef. I figured it was going to be on the greasy side since most Chinese food is...but I thought it was pretty good. We got the Shrimp Lo Mein, which had plenty of shrimp! And Kung Pao Chicken, which was good...but didn't taste like traditional Kung Pao. I would order from there again...BTW-delivery was crazy fast! I come here all the time and the food is never disappointing. They have a wide selection to choose from and just about everything is great. I usually order kung pao chicken and when I come in they always ask me if that's what I want again. The people there are nice, it seems to be family owned. The prices are good especially if you are early enough to get a lunch special which is even cheaper. The food is always prepared quickly too. Forget panda express, give this place a try. read more

Cozy little family-owed restaurant. I've had better Chinese food but anything on the menu will definitely be better than a chain restaurant (*ahem* looking at you, Panda Express...). You also get a lot for your buck, which is always more incentive for me. read more

I enjoy the food here! The restaurant it's self is a tad run down and the sanitation of the inside seating is questionable to me, I will just take my food to go. The service is curt, but not rude just very straight to the point which is acceptable for me. Overall the price is perfect for such a large quantity of the ever guilt ridden occasional greasy Chinese "comfort food." read more

The only Chinese place that delivers to my address in Eastlake. Food is great and the prices are very reasonable. The salt n pepper wings are very similar to the "crack" wings of royal mandarin. Very fast delivery. Highly Recommended! read more

For Chula Vista, Panda Chef is good food for the money and delivers. The delivery element is huge; especially in Eastlake when you're lazy and Panda Chef delivers in minutes - literally. I'm not a big fan of eating onsite but have had food delivered many times. Lastly and when considering Chinese food options, Eastlake doesn't have many options. It's either Panda Chef, Panda Express, Pick Up Stix, PF Changs, and Madarin Chinese; on the eastside of Chula at least. Of these, I think Panda Chef is the only one that delivers. Lastly and if someone is looking for good Chinese food in San Diego, I'm a big fan of Golden Chopsticks off of Plaza Blvd. They hook it up! for $50 you can feed a family of 5 easily and still have left over for that midnight snack... read more

Picked this up after long day at work. Needed a beef fix so I called in an order for Mongolian Beef. I came home to find a polystyrene container filled with mostly onions and spongy beed. No rice?! The bill was $8.70 with tax. Very disappointed, not inclined to given them another try. read more

I called and ordered two things and sent my mom to pick my order up and they only ended up giving her one of the things so I called them and explained the situation and the lady who I could barely understand said I never ordered the chicken that I know for a fact I did and she started to fight with me about it then hung up on me. We had food delivered here before and decided to order again tonight. After I gave them my order, I was told that the manager would not allow them to deliver to our address. I told them they have delivered here before. I was told that they were too busy right now and that our place was too far while they were so busy. I was told to call back later when they were less busy and they would deliver. We're taking our business elsewhere to someone who knows how to appreciate their customers. read more

Worst costumer service, in the city! The food is awful. Won't return, by the way what the heck are all of you 4 and 5 starts thinking, let alone eating! It surely isn't near great more like a waste of money! Won't ever return, ever! Yuk!! All dishes were tasteless and greasy! Plus if ask for a receipt it's my right to have one, do not argue with me and say we don't print receipts uh it's kind of a rule to offer them to your guests.! Wonder what the IRS would think. We order takeout from here almost weekly. Prompt delivery! Fantastic quality, flavor & variety of food. Very friendly owners. We've eaten in the restaurant only once. Dining area upgrades could earn them an extra star with a little renovation. In short, this is a 5-star business with 5-star food but a 4-star dining room (hence the total of 4 stars.) DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE ANY STARS but you have to at least leave one. 12/15/13, Tonight was the 2nd time I ordered from them and it will be the last! They over charged me the first time and did it again tonight. I tallied up the items and added tax and came up with $22.80. When the delivery driver showed up, she asked for $28.80. I called her on it and she said there is a delivery charge. When I asked how much, she stated $3.00 which still doesn't explain the additional $3.00 charge. I had already handed her $28.00 and she demanded the remainder. To shut her up I gave her another $5.00 to literally get her away from my front door. So, I'm disgusted and feel cheated! The parking even around this time was not difficult. I will definitely be returning!

I did not come to appreciate dumplings until adulthood, or at least late teenhood. For everyone else, it was the ultimate comfort food. But for me it was almost a novelty.
