I had Panco perform a service call for my oil burner in February of 2017 for my new tenants. Two months after this was done, my tenant called and said the water is always super hot...and never a happy medium warm. They always had to be extremely careful to get the valve exactly right where it wouldn't burn them or their 5 year old. I called Panco, and spoke to their service manager Gary.
I explained the issue, apologized for not calling sooner, (my tenant didn't tell me until two months after they moved in) Gary gave me the verbal run around saying that they told me work (Temperature valve)had to be done a long time ago...and I never did it (not true) I explained to Gary, even if that was the case (which it wasn't), then why didn't they mention it when the tech was just there. Gary couldn't seem to comprehend simple common sense. Like talking to a wall.
Gary told me what had to be done, and it wouldn't cost a penny of $586.00 to do all the work (there were other things needed). I agreed. Two days later, they charged my credit card over $1300.00. I called Gary...his response was...there was a lot of work, and the tech spent hours there...blah blah blah. I explained to Gary that he charged my CC double without consulting me, gave me a verbal guarantee on the cost and he was committing fraud. I ended up paying the original price.
Fast forward to last week (4 months later), my tenant calls me and tells me that the hot water is coming out of the shower, but the tub is always cold. I decided to avoid Panco this time, and call a local guy and he comes over and does a check. He basically said that the boiler looked like it wasn't serviced, and needed to replace a bunch of parts (relief valve, expansion tank, air vent, auto fee, there was water dripping...etc).
I call up Panco, and speak to John the owner. I tell him the problem and he says we will get someone out to take a look. I told him I will call him back and advise the availability of my tenant...fine. I call back a few hours later, got John, and he says that they are not interested in doing the work. OK fine. They do what they have to do, and will do what I have to do. 1. Write a bunch of reviews like this. 2. Cancel the last charge to my credit card. This is why you always put things on credit card.
Bottom line. Buyer beware! read more
