My first time in Tagaytay, we decided to stop here for some breakfast. To get to the parking spot of the restaurant which was located in the back, you had to drive down this steep driveway/ road. I was thinking, if it ever snowed in the Philippines, you would have a very hard time getting back out. Anyway, when you get to the bottom, a person guides you into a parking spot. I don't know why.
Once you park, you walk upstairs and were seated in the back patio overlooking Taal Lake and the volcano.
I took a look at the menu and decided to order the chicken and waffles. I also opted for bottled water. I wasn't sure if my stomach was ready for the local tap water.
I got my order a few minutes later. The chicken was cooked good. It was crispy. The waffles were thin. Sort of like an Eggo waffle but thinner. I actually liked it. I thought it was going to be like Belgian waffle type. It came with a small cup of syrup and a dollop of butter. The food was great.
The service was ok. We had to constantly ask for things like, napkins, utensils, salt and pepper. They'd bring the pepper but not the salt. So I had to hail the server before left again to get the salt. Because once the server leaves, the was no telling when he'd come back.
This was great place to eat. I enjoyed the food and the views. Overall, this was a good place to eat. I recommend it. read more
