She arrived at the location ahead of time to scout out spots and lighting that would work well for the photos, but she was very considerate to listen to our suggestions and ideas as well. She works carefully with you to determine a location that would provide a nice backdrop for your photo session and she even brings props to add to and enhance your ideas. Once your photography session is complete, Nicole spends multiple hours enhancing and editing the photos so that she can send them to you digitally. Our edited photos turned out AMAZING!!! Not to mention the turn around time to get our photos was very quick. The digital files we received could be easily downloaded to our computers. Taking photos of a family is very personal and sometimes a little bit awkward when posing, but Nicole's calm, friendly, and inviting personality helped us relax and made it easy for us to smile and have fun. She was very professional and responsive by text and email. The newborn shoot took place at her home studio. She had lots of options for wraps, props, colors, etc. Christy was so patient with our little one, especially when he woke up and got fussy and needed a feeding mid-shoot. She was very careful and gentle with him when positioning him for the photos and worked with his natural tendencies, even when it wasn't the normal way she was used to positioning babies with her light source, etc. She took as much time as needed to get pictures that we would be happy with. She accommodated our color and style preferences well. We received a link to the photo gallery in about a week and a half and the digital files less than a week after selecting a package and submitting payment. The pictures came out amazing and will be such precious memories of our little guy. Pricing seemed standard for this type of work. After the ease of setting up day, time, and place, deposit and contract were sent. Everything was done electronically, making it convenient. The day of the session went well despite a little wind making hair placement difficult. Other than that, she arrived on time and accommodated our change of location requests. My only complaint is that she didn't take as many candid or playful shots of the kids or family as I expected. I also felt like we didn't get as much direction as to how to pose. She did advise us in what order to stand. I would have maybe liked a few seated poses as well. Overall, she was friendly and professional. She even took some photos with my old polaroid camera per my request. The finished work arrived quickly via a link through email with direction on how to download and select favorites. The images are beautiful and the turn out with final editing was fast, approximately 2 to 3 days. I am pleased with how everything went and how it turned out. I remember going to the Sharp clinic for pediatrician visits and seeing her photography on the San Diego Family Magazines. She's very down to earth, sociable, understanding, on-time, offers varied themed photo sessions in addition to regular appointment gigs, and maybe most importantly?... she's able to make my kids laugh (even with doing her gig solo!). This attribute makes for great, genuine photos. She will also provide feedback on outfits and "pose" you (little things I'm grateful for since I'm not much of a posing person and then single Dad trying to figure out outfits and what not). The only bad thing I can say, if it's a negative at all, is the online system to select/order photos from has a clunkiness to it specifically with the favorite/star system, but Chris points this out as part of her instructions and advises how to work that. So it's not enough to detract from rating (and I'd feel fake listings only all pro's and no con's).
