I'm used to turning heads. So when my humans said I was going to a new place while they were away, I was skeptical Then I arrived at Down Home Dog Resort. Within minutes, I was greeted like the majestic beast I am. The staff? Obsessed with me (as they should be). The other dogs? Starstruck. The space? Roomy enough for my dramatic stretches and daily case of the zoomies. And the yard? I'm talking full-on nature retreat vibes. Trees, open space, and plenty of good sniffs. Meals were delicious, naps were uninterrupted, and the belly rubs? Chef's kiss. They knew just how to hit that spot behind my ears that makes my back leg do the tap-tap-tap. He once got snowed in at the Kennel (due to the Erie Turkey Day blizzard) and came back happy but this summer he was suffering from the humidity as were we all. But despite his general grumpiness towards others, he loves everyone at Country Livin ----to our amazement . Their groomet did an amazing job fixing a disastrous scissoring job I had done in desperation to help him cool off (he is an aussie and he was suffering from the heat and humidity--I know everyone says to leave the undercoat but he was suffering and this was the right choice.

LuAnn was so nice to reach out to me after I emailed her on Yelp to see if they were open to do…read morenail clippings for dogs. She said they were open for grooming and nail clippings I explained to her that my dog has had several bad experiences with nail clippings being too short causing him to bleed, but she did not seem to care that he was scared of his nails getting trimmed. JoAnn called me to set up a time for her to come all the way to my house in the Kenmore area to clip my fur baby's nails from her place of business. It was so wonderful to have someone come to my home and trim my fur baby's nails, after searching for a month, and have him not even be bothered. There is something to be said about a dog being completely comfortable with someone they do not know trimming their nails. She did a fantastic job trimming my dog's nails and she treated him very well. I will definitely have her come by again to do nail trimmings or even travel up to her. I don't think five stars is enough to give her, I think it is +! Thank you for coming by, being so good to my old guy, and doing such a great job!!
