I owe my livelihood, future ability to provide for myself and well being to Reagan Toledano…read more Mr. Toledano took my case when I came to him as a 20 something year old, having been denied LTD by my employer's insurer. When I came to Reagan I was unable to work, in my 20s, with a very complex, rarely known or diagnosed illness. I didn't fully understand at the time just how grately the cards were stacked against me and my case. I now have a better understanding that with a very unknown complex illness and being in my 20s the likelihood of winning my appeal and being awarded disability benefits was slim and almost impossible. Nevertheless, Mr. Toledano took a chance, and took my case, working tirelessly for nearly a year to get me the benefits I deserved. Mr. Toledano is extremely knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to National disability insurers and ERISA claims, with a demonstrated and proven track record in knowing which issues to target to produce a favorable outcome for claimants. He was very knowledgeable in knowing what specific medical information would prove most vital to my case during the appeals process. He advised on what information strengthened my case the most and provided detailed instructions and assistance on exactly how to acquire such documentation from family, friends, employers and physicians. Mr. Toledano presented issues that were most important and pertinent to my case, more so than I had even considered and he knew how to navigate the administrative side of filing and appealing a disability claim. Reagan was ultimately successful in presenting my case and appeal to Metlife. Mr. Toledano and staff partnered with me and treated me with such kindness and respect, always returning phone calls in a timely manner, even calling some evenings after hours to answer my questions and assist with documentation, and quickly replying to email, providing thorough detailed information for any and all questions I had. I'd recommend Willeford & Toledano to anyone struggling with obtaining Long Term Disability benefits or with an ERISA claim. More specifically,I'd recommend Reagan Toledano and his legal expertise to anyone with a disability claim. There aren't enough words to explain how vital Reagan's expertise and knowledge were in the positive outcome for my case and being awarded disability benefits upon appeal with Metlife. I recommend him to anyone who needs a caring, professional and thorough attorney on their side as they navigate their disability claim.

Consultation with Mr Toledano was most helpful with my SSDI VS. Long term disability. Thanks again!!read more

I spent hours looking for an attorney or law firm that would take my disability case with the…read moreDepartment of Veterans Affairs. Since I am already rated at 100%, none of the other law firms would even talk to me. They wouldn't talk to me because I didn't represent enough revenue to them. Veterans that are catastrophically injured may be paid above the 100% rate under the Special Monthly Compensation (SMC) rates. If you've seen a veteran on tv with multiple amputations they all qualify for SMC pay. These are the veterans the other law firms are denying assistance to if they are already rated 100. Unlike the other law firms, Gardberg & Kemmerly took my information and attorney Nathan Guin called me back to see if he could help me. I described my situation and he took notes to bring me up at their next meeting. Gardberg & Kemmerly may not be able to help me. I knew it was a long shot before I made my first call. The thing is Gardberg & Kemmerly didn't just discard me because I might not represent a large enough profit margin for them. They treated me like a person in need that they might be able to help. I appreciate their effort more than words can express.

On every phone call over the years I told him that I was never diagnosed with personality disorder -- my military medical records clearly show adjustment disorder. Despite this, the brief filed on my behalf stated that I was "first diagnosed with personality disorder" and told the judge I had "claimed" that diagnosis myself. I never said that. I never claimed that. I told my attorney the opposite on every single call. I was never shown the brief before my federal hearing. I did not know I could ask to see it. When I heard what was being presented to the judge I froze because it was not my story. I walked out of the hearing crying. After the hearing I sent detailed questions. My attorney promised to answer them "as soon as possible." He never did. He then missed a scheduled appointment and never answered eleven follow-up questions I sent in writing. He resigned from the firm without telling me. I was not notified for approximately three months. During that time I had an active federal appeal with no assigned attorney and did not know it. When the managing partner took over my case, I sent him a detailed timeline with twelve documentary exhibits proving the diagnosis error. His entire response was one sentence: "I confirm I received the 01/20/26 email and the 12 attached pictures." Nothing else. No legal analysis. No follow-up. When I finally terminated representation, the withdrawal letter spelled my name wrong three different ways in two pages -- including a completely made-up name that has never been mine. The letter stated in bold that the firm would not waive its right to collect fees. I am now representing myself pro se. I have filed my own legal briefs, identified the errors in my case, and assembled the evidence myself. I should never have had to do that. That was my attorney's job. If you are a veteran considering this firm, please get a second opinion first.
