Came in for a solo dinner while traveling for business. There were no reserved tables and I was…read moreinstructed to sit anywhere I liked. The menu descriptions are in German, but the dish names were all English, I didn't ask if they had an English menu because I didn't need it. I opted for a beer, water, and pick-two BBQ... ribs, wings, and fries all sounded good and that one hits them all. The waitress asked if I wanted mayonnaise which gave me the opportunity to decline and ask for ketchup. I'm not exactly sure which stout I got, but it was smooth. The food came out shortly and was a generous portion and they put the whole bottle of ketchup on the table for my fries! Crispy chicken wings were the whole wing like you'd get in fried chicken but simply fried (no breading, no sauce, no seasoning- crispy skin). Ribs were tender enough, crispy on the outside with some sauce squeezed ontop. The fries are thick cut and were the star of the dish. Overall there's nothing wrong with the food or service and it satisfies the craving for this type of food. But, it's no replacement for barbecue from the bayou in the US.

The list of beers included stouts from New Orleans, which my friend was brave enough to try. Unless you are an experienced beer drinker, I would recommend sticking to the local brews like Herforder Pils because the stout has a very unique and probably acquired taste. The New Orleans decor inside the bar/restaurant is pretty cool too.

Upon arrival at this restaurant I waited approximately 15 minutes before everyone approached me and…read moreasked me if I wanted to make any kind of order. Unfortunately the way to who approached me then belittled me into my lack of German language skills and then had a conversation in German (I can read, right, understand German but I cannot speak German) with the occupants of a table directly opposite my table. During that conversation he said that he 'refused to speak English to someone who doesn't speak German'. He then made remarks about My being 'a foreigner and that this is Germany and you must speak German in Germany' He then came back to my table and wiped it down and spoke to me in English and when I pointed out to him that he spoke English he then said to me "only if I like the people I'm speaking to". The racist remarks he made and the belittling of me in a conversation with complete strangers about my language skills is entirely inappropriate and to my understanding (I have my PhD in European tax law and my PhD in German human rights law) completely unlawful. The food was okay but nothing to write home about however even of the food was magnificent the service was absolutely appalling!!!!!! The young man should not be working in service; unfortunately for the owner of this establishment I am a senior officer at TripAdvisor and as a result of my experience here I will be speaking with our staff about how we promote this restaurant. I don't think we want anyone subjected to this kind of racist abuse!!!
