The little gentleman that came was very nice and very upfront. He told me he did not know how to fix it. He tried to call the office. Couldn't get anybody at first. He said he had no idea where to put any of the parts because he did not work on that. He called the office to tell them that he did not feel right charging me for their service fee because he did not do nothing for me. Instead of having it up maybe I would have paid half. He said the office said because it was a service fee that he did no service for that. They would still have to charge me $119. I paid it. Little guy was up front. He did not lie to me or try to fix something he did not know how to do. He was a very nice young man and I had dealt with him before when he had worked at another heating and Air Business. I want them to know that they are very looking to have someone work for them. That's like that that is very truthful and that has a conscience for charging someone for a service that they didn't even do so. As for me, I will not be calling home comfort for anything The two star rating is for the young man that came out there to fix my gas stove and that he was honest not for the company. I do not like home comfort and I will not be ever using them again

Although the technician did a good job, and the problem was solved. The work that was described in…read morethe quote is not what happened or what was needed. I was still charged for the quoted work, over the work that actually happened. When we contacted the company they told us they don't charge by the hour but have a price for the job. The problem with that is the estimated issue was different from the final issue, so the price should have reflected the change in work. Talking with other professionals we were overcharged by 200 or 300 dollars.

Asked them to provide an estimate on a simple, straightforward refrigerator repair (topping off the…read morerefrigerant level). I provided the make/model number and history as to why it needed that particular service. They declined to provide the upfront estimate I requested and instead wanted to come right over and do a full diagnosis. When I wouldn't agree to that unnecessary action (which they didn't provide a price for either), they decided to "pass" on the project. Apparently they didn't see enough profit potential to make it worthwhile for them to provide the requested service.

I had a previous appointment with another business on Thumbtack to install a ceiling fan, but…read morecancelled it after seeing their 3.5 star rating on Google. Jones Handyman was also on Thumbtack (4.8 rating) and Google with 5.0 rating) I cancelled that appointment(3.5) and scheduled it with Jones Handyman. My sister found Jones Handyman on Thumbtack and wanted him to come check her dryer. She told him that her time was flexible, he never called her back to schedule an appointment. I talked to Chris and told him that I'm a "die hard" review reader and I write reviews. He installed a ceiling fan for me. The old fan was dusty, but there were screws and washers left in the floor as well as on top of the freezer. I turned the fan on and it was making a swishing sound, that is quite aggravating. The only good thing about that is, it's in the laundry room and I can't hear it unless I'm in the laundry room. I called Chris as soon as I noticed this and sent him a video. He said that it was running fine when he left and that my brother had looked at it too. That he didn't know what happened between the time he left and I got home. That was a good question, because no one had been at my house since he had installed the fan. He did say he would come back and check it out. I told him to just let me know when he could get back to check it, the day of installation and the day the fan was making the noise 8/16/23. I sent him a text, and asked him when he could stop by(he hadn't called back) Chris was scheduled to come back on Saturday August 19 at 10 am. I had turned the fan on Friday morning around 7 am and it was making that noise, but when I went to the laundry room later that day it wasn't making a sound. I called Chris back and told him not to come unless he just wanted to come and check it out. He had me to turn it off and change the blade direction to see if it made the noise, it didn't. He told me if I had any problems to call him. I did notice that after being off, when it's first started it still makes a sound, but it goes away after running for a while. On the receipt there is a disclosure that should be posted on thumbtack.
