It's darned hard to miss the massive Palace of Justice from anywhere in Brussels. This gigantic building is a the top of the hill with a shiny gold dome on top. Up close, even more impressive with marble, marble and more marble all around. Sadly, it was not open on a Saturday for tours, but the areas that are open are amazing and worth spending some time looking around. read more

The Palais de Justice is another must see monument while you walk & tour around the city of Brussels. The size and Architecture of the buildings is pretty amazing. The building is currently under renovation with scaffolding erected around the exterior. Vision screen is not draped over the scaffolding, so one can still get a nice good look of the property. read more

Gorgeous building and some interesting architecture. The outside is covered in scaffolding which is a shame as it does not show the true splendor of this building. read more

If you come here on a weekday some of the big hallways on the inside will be open to visit. This big building built by blood money from slaves in Kongo is so huge. The biggest in the world during it's century. It's hard to imagine the greed needed to build such a huge building. read more

Enormous building with a prominent gold dome. The Palace of Justice is the most important court…read morebuilding in Belgium. It is the seat of the country's different courts & tribunals, most notably the Court of Cassation. The building was built in 1866 and renovated in 1947-48 and again in 1984. It is 279,930 sq ft and one of the largest constructed in the 19th century. The total cost of the construction, land, & furnishings is about 50 million Belgian francs. The court was heavily damaged during WWII, the cupola was destroyed & then rebuilt higher than the original. The structure has been under renovation since 1984 & scaffolding still surrounded most on the building, though it is set to come down in 2024.
