It is beautiful and the community within the church is welcoming and loving. Father Patrick and the other priests are amazing.

I don't know how pastor Patrick managed to stay so hopeful during pandemic, but that's the reality in this community.

I started attending Roar Church in June of 2019 after a personal invite from Pastor Louis and his…read morewife Karen. At the time, I had just gone through a really painful breakup and knew I needed God back in my life. I had visited other churches that were great, but none of them felt like home. From the moment I walked into Roar, I felt the Holy Spirit -- and I knew this was where I was meant to be. My very first Sunday was Father's Day 2019. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, worship was powerful, and the message hit deep. It wasn't surface-level or sugar-coated. It was real. Challenging. And exactly what I needed. The overall vibe is casual but intense in the best way. We worship HARD -- loud music, lights, hands raised. If you've never been to church before, you might think "what is happening?" at first -- but you'll also feel the love immediately, from the parking lot on. This church believes the Bible from start to finish, no cherry-picking, and does everything with excellence while remembering where we came from. Community here goes beyond Sundays, but it's a two-way street. Roar makes intentional efforts to connect people and offers many ways to get involved -- circle groups, baptisms, men's and women's ministries, youth, kids, and more. It can feel like a lot at first, but the best advice is to dive in. You'll find your people. The pastors are real. They tell the truth without sugarcoating it, but always with love and humor. Messages are rooted in Scripture -- not opinions -- and you can tell how much prayer, fasting, and preparation goes into what's shared each week. Each pastor brings their own style, which keeps things engaging and authentic. Being at Roar has changed me in ways I can't fully explain. I was transparent about my struggles from day one, and instead of judgment, I received love. When I messed up, there was no shame -- just people walking with me, supporting me, eating with me, listening, loving me harder, and telling me the truth when I needed it. Because of this church, I understand the Bible and worship on a deeper level, and I've made some of the strongest friendships of my life. Worship here is genuine -- not performative. Professional musicians, yes -- but the focus is always inviting the Holy Spirit, not attendance or production. That's what matters most. Practical notes: there's no dress code, parking is organized with attendants, service length depends on the move of the Holy Spirit (if you know, you know), kids' ministry is available and taken very seriously for safety, youth meets separately, and while there's a café, food and drinks aren't allowed in the sanctuary (water is okay). This church is not for people looking for perfection, a quick 3-point message, or a "country club" church. But if you want the Bible, an encounter with the Holy Spirit, and a loving community -- this place is for you. If you're unsure about church, unsure about God, or unsure about yourself -- come check it out. Commit to six weeks. I truly believe you'll experience a move of God. Roar Church is home.

The pastor began the service by making fun of the drummer and mocking him for being so short. The general feeling was that we are all going to hell. I have never been told so many times that I am going to hell in the span of over 2 plus hours. Not just "we" are going to hell but "you" are going to hell. And we are going there because we don't tithe enough. . We left that place feeling like we had been beat down for 2 hours. I felt no fruits of the spirit anywhere. I did not feel that this pastor had an anointing. It seemed like he was just there for the money. I got the sense that he preys on lost souls (recovering addicts, ex felons, etc). If you do decide to visit, be sure you put on the full armor of Christ... you're going to need it.

Peaceful Chapel located right off the 101 freeway near the 23. I've been blessed to visit some churches traveling for work. I've had the privilege of visiting the church a few times. This community was very reverent. They have a nice patio area outside, the chapel isn't large but very intimate. They have their Mass schedule online. If you need a break from the daily grind and need peace and quiet, be sure to visit this chapel. God bless

The sense of community here is unmatched--whether it's through the engaging Masses, the wonderful events they hold, or the friendly faces at church, there's always something that allows people to come together. Whether it's arranging sacraments, helping with scheduling, or providing information on church activities, they do it with care. There is always someone to answer the phone or reply to emails in a timely manner. I am truly thankful for the community I have become a part of over the last 10 years as a parishioner here. St. Mary Magdalen is a place where you can grow spiritually and feel a part of something bigger. I highly recommend St. Mary Magdalen if you're looking for a church with a genuine, welcoming community and top-notch service. Truly a special place!

My friend Matt invited me here to attend, and I have to say, there are some of the nicest people here. Pastor Dan is one swell guy as well. I've attended the "young adult" group, entitled 19-29 (referring to the target age range), and the leaders Lindsey & Brent are just the cat's meow! The music on Sunday morning's is great. Casey (the worship leader) has quite a set of pipes on her. This is a smaller and cozier church, nothing like Rocky Peak. I'd guess attendance on Sunday mornings to be around 50-70? It's in a commercial area, in what used to be commercial space, on the corner of Flynn & Adolfo in Camarillo. Service starts at 10AM on Sundays and ends at 11:30-11:45AM. And if you want a snack, they've got Bagel Sundays on the first Sunday of the month. I recommend you check them out! Just tell them Mike sent you, and then you'll get a free worship music CD. (Just kidding. They give that out to you when you fill out a New-to-the-Vineyard card).
