Paco was introduced to us by a friend to work in my dear friend, a 92-year-old's yard. We were hopeful because we knew most Mexicans had a reputation for being hardworking. However, our experience turned out to be very disappointing.
Before starting, Paco insisted on a $200 cash deposit, which we paid (We thought we had a mutual friend, he would not just take the money and not do the work). He arrived five hours later, only after multiple calls from me. We had given clear instructions on the work we wanted and asked for before-and-after pictures since we live in another city. Despite promising to provide the pictures, he never followed through.
Three days later, my husband went to review the work, and Paco had only completed half of it. We had personally shown him all the areas requiring attention before agreeing to the job, making it even more frustrating.
When we tried contacting him again, he did not respond. He eventually called back, apologizing for phone issues and health problems, and promised to fix everything on the following Sunday. Reluctantly, we gave him another chance.
But once again, Paco didn't show up as promised. We tried reaching out through calls and texts, but he remained unresponsive. Our mutual friend also attempted to contact him multiple times without success. It's been another week, and Paco seems to have disappeared entirely.
Given our experience, I cannot recommend hiring him. If you must deal with him, make sure not to pay until the work is fully completed and up to your satisfaction. read more
