He offered us a deal for the lessons and rental. My instructor Piña was excellent - I didn't want to just catch some waves with a push and call it a day. I wanted to build proper technique and learn to read the waves, and that's exactly what he taught. He gives loads of tips and quick feedback. Not to mention super funny guy. Note, it helps to speak Spanish. Was really hard to leave Playa Carrizalillo by the end, and that was just a week! If you can, stay longer and surf!!

These people are extremely shady and dishonest. When he refused to pay Julio, the owner, got in his face, started yelling and threatened him. He then shoved my friend and one of his goons held his arms Behind his back so Julio could punch him. Insane. My buddy ended up being forced to pay for the bs repair and dislocated his toe when he got shoved. Totally ruined this beach for me.

They took us to a lagoon that was very far away (almost an hour). I thought they would have taken us to Lagoon Manialtepec which is the popular one and I am guessing there are more planktons in that one. We couldn't really see the plankton in the lagoon we went to No one seemed impressed by the tour. It was kinda sad. Also, the tour guide gave us almost no information on it! It was more transportation. Overall, waste of money! Our hotel recommended lalo ecotours so check them out instead! Ok update: he has offered a 50% refund and apologized for what happened but we came to the conclusion that our tour did not go as deep in the lagoon as he is supposed to to be able to see the plankton. Which is what I had assumed since I saw many tour boats going further. Roberto was helpful and solved our problem but next time I'll make sure we go with him in the tour

He is able to give the tour equally in Spanish and English, providing facts and local tips to everyone on board. Besides seeing multiple humpback whales and dozens and dozens of dolphins, Roberto was friendly and affable while showing us the best spots for swimming, snorkeling and beaching. This tour is a must do to a see (and swim!) with the local wildlife. Nothing beats an early morning ocean boat ride with a small group and local expert.

My friends and I were looking for a dolphin and marine life tour and came across the information…read morefor Omar's Sportfishing. We came with a group of five adults for about a 2.5 hour tour, costing about $65 per person. When we arrived at the beach at Puerto Angelito, there were lots of boat tours, so it took us a moment to find Omar. Once we found him, we boarded the boat, along with two other tourists. Omar was the captain and he had a young assistant. He was very nice and spoke English to our group, and Spanish to the other two guests. He told us about how the dolphins form communities, avoid predators and can join new communities. I do think that if it had been a Spanish-speaking tour, he probably would have been even more informative. During the tour, they had bottled water in a cooler for us. The assistant climbed to the top of the boat to look for marine life. There was an awning for sun protection. We were invited to the front of the boat, two people at a time in order to view the marine life from a closer perspective. In the beginning, it was a long time before we saw anything, though Omar pointed out various species of birds. We then saw several turtles. Finally, we came across several schools of dolphins that were swimming alongside the boat. Many were jumping quite a bit, which was cool to see. In addition, we saw a few large and active fish. If you go on a tour, keep in mind that it is a small boat with no bathroom. Also, I have been prone to sea sickness, but had no problem at all, despite some pretty fast speeds and big waves. All in all, it was a fun experience. I know we cannot count on marine life to just show up nearby, but I do wish we had seen a bit more.

They also have local jewelry, sunglasses all kinds of local arts & crafts & cool handmade/hand painted stuff. We dig it. My GF Robyn bought some very cool sunglasses & bikini here also. For the ladies, they have some of the most unique bikinis. You can buy the tops & bottoms separate, which is what I prefer. This past trip I was on the hunt for the new halter top style bikini top. I found one as soon as I walked in the door. Love it when that happens. Anyhoo, my hubby likes to shop as much as I do. He is a total clothing whore. So, he went straight to the men's side & came back with a couple shirts & a big smile on his face that read "total score" satisfied customer :) then he disappeared back to the back & I found him eyeing this hand wood carved traditional ceremonial mask hanging on the wall. It was red, had real goat horns, evil eyes & a giant tongue hanging out of it. So, naturally he fell in love with it. The owner came over & we started chatting about the ceremonial masks & he told us all about them, that they were actually mask that were used in the traditional ceremony that they perform in Oaxaca during Easter. The owner is the coolest dude. Then hubby got a called & stepped outside. I ended up wearing my halter top the entire trip. I loved it so much that at the end of my trip I decided to go back for another one. I bought 2 more & decided to get the mask for hubby as a gift. As hubby was returning back to the states, I gave the mask to him & he wouldn't get on the plane with it! He thought it was too evil & was going to make his plane crash! Lol We weren't flying together so I had to carry it back stateside in my backpack for him. So far no tragic events have occurred, neither one of our planes went down & we are both in good health so I don't think the mask is going to kill us. Now he wants me to get him another one. Lol We will return! :))

It's one of the best Sunset I've ever seen. This is a poor province of Mexico (Oaxaca) but the people are nice and prices VS Acapulco as ridiculously low. The place is very relax in off season and even on off season (when I went) there's some village party which keeps the beach active until later.

Breathtakingly beautiful beach spot…read more A tiny beach cove that is shallow with small waves. A perfect place to learn how to surf and/or paddle board. It's a long long long long long staircase down & you got to muster up the energy to hike it back up after a long day of heat exhausting fun in the sun. Especially if your carrying a cooler & stuff down there. The small area that you can buy food & drinks down there is pretty expensive even for Mexican standards. Because once you get down there, your down there for the day & they know it, so plan accordingly. Recommend.

It's a TINY beach, and when we got there (around 12pm) it was PACKED with people - in the restaurants, the beach front, even the rocks. I mean people, groups who didn't even know each other, were towel to towel. The water itself is a little less aggressive and much more beautiful than the other beaches in town. But, due to my anxiety it was hard for me to really enjoy this beach.
