Carol has tried to give me medical advice about my pregnancy twice that has been very false. She also worked with me over the phone for OVER a WEEK to get my transfer papers in and failed to mention that their office is full and can't accept me. Which she couldn't relay that information, she had another staff member call me the next day to say its their "protocol" to receive the transfer papers BEFORE even checking to see if they have enough availability to take another patient. Absolutely ridiculous.

In reading some of the previous reviews mostly negative and from years past I thought in should give mine. One of the things I love is when I was pregnant Dr. Storrer sees her own patients at every visit unlike some other OB's home have their nurse practitioners see their patients. She always addresses every question I have and asked me if there are any concerns or questions. I never feel rushed or unimportant, when I call the office knows me by name and who I am they make it feel like a more personal experience. Iesha has been working the front desk for at least the past 10 years and she is wonderful. During my pregnancy they always addressed any illnesses I had or concerns right away via telephone if need be. I always felt that they had my health in their best interest even when I wanted to work sick , I would strongly encouraged to stay home and rest since that is what my baby and I needed to get well. The delivery went well Dr store really listens to her patients as far as how they feel and what they want for their birthday plans. She is straight and to the point and won't just tell you what you want to hear but give you options at the same time. I had my baby in the early morning hours and she was in a perfectly acceptable mood. I think our physicians are human and have their good and bad days, granted we don't want them to help us on their bad ones. All that really matters is that you're and your baby's health on that special day were addressed and you weren't put in harm's way. I work with physicians and let me just say some of their bedside manners are terrible but that doesn't change the fact that they know what they're talking about and practice medicine well. I personally have never had an issue with Dr Storrer's bedside manner, she is fabulous. I recommend Dr. Storrer because I was treated exceptionally well and I think her office staff is really nice and efficient that was my experience over the last 10 years. During my last visit I asked Dr. Storrer why it seemed there was a bunch of new staff. She kindly explained what had been going on and she did not have to do that she didn't seem annoyed that I asked the question she just seemed happy to answer and gave me an honest answer. There are times where I have had to wait for her, but let's be real people these are physicians and their schedules don't always go as planned.. We just must be patient and hopefully when we need our physicians they will give us the same preferred treatment that they had given others in their time of need. These offices also have a schedule to keep therefore if we are late they are late. I I know this may seem one sided but its how it is in most offices when they only have 10 minute appointment slots and you're 5 minutes late for your 10 minute appointment that can be an issue.

I was an existing patient and they never checked in with me to see how I was or why I never schedule my follow up appointment. She had delivered my first baby and that had gone some ok but in retrospect I now see that there were issues with that experience that I just didn't realize or understand as a first time pregnancy. This doctor has no empathy and no compassion and offers no support or education for the mother.

Oh, there is so much to say about my birthing experience. I'll keep it short…read more 1) THE CLASSES: the birthing class series led by Marina was awesome. It was educational and fun. The classes really helped put my anxiety about childbirth to rest. They cost a mere $20 per couple for the whole series. There are snacks provided at every session so the fee basically covers the cookies. Definitely recommended for all first time parents! 2) THE NURSES: Majority of the nurses at Birthing Unit were amazing. Special shout out to Jill (visiting nurse), Amy, and Christina (usually in mother baby) & Kim in Mother/baby. These women took great care of me. 3) HOSPITAL ADMIN: This is where the 3 stars come from (instead of 4-5) Lack of available anesthesiologist!! I planned to get an epidural from early in my pregnancy. It was in my birth plan. I notified the nurse once I was admitted so there were no surprises. I was hooked up to an IV at 2:30 am and I didn't get my epidural until 7:15 am. That's right, I WAITED OVER FIVE (5) HOURS FOR EPIDURAL! When I say waited, I mean labored naturally in agonizing pain when I could be resting in preparation for the pushing... My poor nurse kept telling me that the epidural would be coming soon the whole night to no avail. The ONLY anesthesiologist in the entire hospital (what?!) was tied up in a surgery. I had to wait for another one to start the morning shift... I don't know about you, but for women who want the epidural (statistically its the majority), this is quite a big issue. I was really disappointed in Sierra Vista for making me suffer unnecessarily. As one of the two major birthing hospitals in the area, you'd think they'd be able to call someone in. Note: all the tours and classes tell expectant mothers that the wait for an epidural is usually 30-45 minutes. I'm letting y'all know, this is not true. Not in my case. Mind you, there were 5 of us who were all needing epidurals that morning and all of us were waiting for the morning shift anesthesiologist to come in. All in all, I'm going to think long and hard if I want to deliver at SV again unless I decide on an unmedicated birth. Could this happen at French? Maybe...so far I've only just had the "SV pain special". Note: if you're pregnant and reading this - don't freak out. Im sure my situation is rare and hopefully it won't happen to you.

I was induced in the afternoon and ended up pushing around 5 am, and then had a c section at 7am. The staff here was amazing. I don't say that lightly - they were incredible. I wish I remembered everyone's names, but they were so helpful. Nicole was so kind and amazing. She helped me with my breastfeeding issues. I remember being so excited to tell her when my milk was slightly coming in. John was SO amazing as well. Kind and sweet, sharing stories with us about his own kids - just a true gem. My husband told me that he wished he expressed to John how grateful he was, but he was so emotional that he couldn't get the words out. Dr sungurlu is a special kind of dr, so confident and direct- two things I needed to get through all the unexpected things I experience during my birthing journey. Niki was great and was my nurse during the contractions/ water breaking. She made sure to keep checking in on me, and she made sure to let me know that if I wanted the epidural, it would take about an hour for the anesthesiologist to arrive. The anesthesiologist was so sweet, I wish I remembered her name. I had another anesthesiologist the next morning for my c section, Dr Jenkins. He was incredible. He stood behind me the entire process, making jokes and distracting me. He kept asking if I was ok, and helped me when I started throwing up after the surgery. He even took pictures of my husband and I when we met our baby. Basically, all in all, I could not have gotten through my birthing journey without Sierra vista. If I have another kid, I'll most definitely be back to this hospital.

No one said they would contact the lab !! I have informed them it was very important to get the read because MRI is pending. Way too casual. I'm not going back to this doctor. I am currently in the middle of my fourth pregnancy. My last pregnancy was 12 years ago. In the…read morepast, I went through a regular OBGYN doctor, however this time decided to start out care with a midwife. There were some concerns at my 20 week anatomy scan and it was recommended that I be referred to an OBGYN. I reached out to this practice on 3/31/23. The receptionist was pleasant at first and said she would need to have the doctor look over my medical records before they would agree to accept a transfer of care. I spoke to them again Monday 4/3/23 and this time spoke to a woman named Carol. She said that based off my records (?) it sounded like I was looking for a consultation and that they do not accept consultations, they only accept medical transfers. I told her that I was agreeing to transfer my medical care. Her exact words were, "Well, it's not that easy." and she said she would call me back tomorrow, 4/4/23 after she spoke to the person in charge of transfers. Since I didn't hear back on 4/4/23, I called back around mid-afternoon to request a status update. Carol answered the phone and said, "Oh, yea, we are not accepting transfers." I asked for clarification on weather they are not accepting new patients at all or just not accepting transfers. She would not answer my question and for some reason became very rude and condescending towards me at this point. I then asked if it would be possible to speak to the person in charge of transfers. She said something along the lines of "I'm not going to discuss this with you, find another OBGYN" and literally HUNG UP ON ME. I don't know this woman Carol personally, but the fact that she would treat any patient like this speaks volumes. The part I can't specify is weather it speaks volumes to the practice itself or to her as a person. After further reviewing their website, I realized that Carol is Dr. Spalding's wife. To choose to be condescending and literally hang up on someone who is only trying to seek out healthcare for their unborn child is not okay. For someone in an already vulnerable state, a little empathy would have went a long way. Dr. Spalding's biography states they have 4 children and she sounds like an incredible mother herself. I am saddened that she would think it's okay to treat an expecting mother this way. I looked over their website thoroughly before I reached out them. The impression I received from their website was that this was a compassionate and sincere doctors office who prides itself on quality of care. Literally the only thing I was looking for was what is best for my unborn baby. This pregnancy has already been an emotional roller coaster for me and the medical complications are not making it any easier. If this is the way this office treats their patients, then I guess maybe their website of testimonials is just a facade because the treatment I recieved from Dr. Spalding's wife literally left me in tears.

It took a while, but Andrea was able to help me get him latched and transferring milk. She was incredibly helpful and I learned a ton. She also saved me from needing to continue to pump 8 to 10 times a day which I will be forever grateful for.

And it is clear why: Andrea combines knowledge of nursing with much needed emotional support to get you through your lactation woes. Andrea has a wonderful bedside manner. She's warm and kind but focused and efficient with her sessions. Andrea has helped calm my anxiety about breastfeeding issues my newborn. I credit Andrea for helping me stay on track. Her staff, Trisha and Robin, are knowledgeable and kind as well. After 6 weeks of agonizing pain and every possible thing you can think of going wrong, we finally had a breakthrough. I was so close to quitting and I spent weeks pumping and bottle feeding. I am so happy to report that as my baby approaches 2 months, he is now fully breastfed. If you are struggling, please get help. Stay strong and believe in yourself because most problems resolved with time.
