8/20/25, My second time here at this newer location for a couple minor skin pimples, the dermatologist took care of both, dermatologists here are wonderful, staff is friendly and professional, the back offices are clean, well maintained and equipped for patients so I have no complaints about the staff nor the offices. The only real complaint that I have about this place is that the overhead music speakers in front lobby waiting area is so very loud that I literally have to go get my ear plugs out of my car to plug up my ears while waiting to be called in. I can't even see how the girls who work there in the front reception desk can stand working all day long with such loud blasting music from the speakers, it is so annoying and loud that I can't even hear myself think. I guess because the desk staff employees are all under age 30 that they don't mind the loud music speakers, but if they are exposed for too long the loud disables they will lose their hearing before they reach age 60. They will need to wear hearing aids in both ears. If I had to work here in the front lobby desk, I wouldn't last a day before I quit the job due to the loud music and loud voices around the front desk. Just remember to bring your ear plugs if you want to sit and relax in the lobby while you wait to be called. I would give this location a 5-star if it were low music and peaceful in the lobby waiting room. read more

I switched dermatology offices to pacific derm. It's out of the way but after seeing Dr. Aubrie I knew I wanted to make this my new office. She was so patient, informative and answered all of my questions without making me feel rushed. I then did a procedure with Dr. Lance and he was amazing! Walked me through everything and was so kind. The only bad experience I had was with one of the front desk girl who does the scheduling, ofie. Both times that I went she Mixed up my appointment dates twice even though I was telling her the date was wrong. And had such a dry rude approach. read more

Made a New Patient apt. online for my child since he has a growth in the back of his head. Did all necessary online paperwork. Was called the day before his apt that they needed to cancel and reschedule because they don't take any new patients after 2:50pm. His apt. was for 3pm, which was an available time slot online. I commented, "ten minutes? The Dr. can not accommodate a confirmed apt ten minutes later?" Their response was "absolutely not." A Dr. that is so concerned over ten minutes that they can not see a new pt with a medical concern is not the type of Dr. I want treating my kids. And I'll bet if I showed up for a 2:50pm apt, I'd be waiting in the lobby or patient room about 15 minutes or more anyway. read more

Avoid Aubrey Jones. She is completely incompetent. Told my husband a growth on his face was nothing, but said would do the biopsy anyways. Came back positive basal cell cancer. My husband went back a year later to get a different growth on his face looked at (doctor he made appointment with left early for the day) so Aubrey walked in. Told him that the growth was benign. She did it AGAIN. Without any biopsy. Why make a statement like that knowing his history. I called her out and she was so arrogant and rude. I'm glad I was able to call her out in person. Someone this immature and irresponsible should not be in this field. Period. read more

Just wanted to give ULTRA HIGH MARKS to Dr. Lance Chapman & his PA, Aubrey. They caught an early MELANOMA on my arm & Dr. Chapman did the excision with super CLEAR MARGINS...effectively saving my LIFE! SO GRATEFUL to them! Dr. Chapman is not only a great doctor, but seems to understand the immense psychological ANGST that can come with a diagnosis of CANCER. He was incredibly reassuring, thoughtful, caring and comforting through the entire process. I am thankful my primary care doctor referred him to me. One caveat...'insurance issues'. There doesn't seem to be any access to the one person in charge of insurance matters. I have never been granted a phone call with him. It was initially a constant battle trying to figure out if my insurance will cover certain procedures. They seemed, initially, to want to pass off that responsibility to ME to find out. I've been in constant contact with my insurance provider and they seem confused that this office wants ME to call my insurance provider to ask these questions. It is generally the OFFICE of the service provider that figures out IF insurances will pay for procedures and relay that information to the patients. So you may encounter insurance issues in the beginning. This is my only 'beef' with this office. These issues seem to now be resolved but it was a headache in the beginning & after all that, the front office staff are very kind & very helpful. read more

Went for a complicated condition was told 3 $60 appointments later they could do nothing for me and I should go to UCLA. Don't waste your time if you have a more complicated case, they will not make an effort to help. Receptionists are rude over the phone and in person, very impatient.. when attempting to refill one of medications through cvs, the prescribing doctor never responded back and I ran out of medication. They wouldn't refill or get in touch with my pharmacy unless I paid another $60 for an exam... In regards to the actual exam, the doctor barely took a look at my skin and just gave me a handful of sample retinoids that were expiring soon? Came here to see a derm for a growth I had and Aubrey was AMAZING!!!!! She goes into detail with everything and really takes her time to explain things. I even expressed my other concerns being derm related and she answered all of my questions. I was so happy with the service here. My previous experience at another derm (diff location/diff Dr) was just terrible. And I just love Pacific Dermatology! Given that my biological father died of melanoma and I have many pre-cancerous growths all over my body, I have worked with several different dermatologists over the past 30+ years. Some were good, some not so good. Dr. Chapman is far and away the BEST DERMATOLOGIST I have ever worked with, bar none. His thoroughness and attention to detail are superlative. He is passionate and conscientious about the care that he provides to his patents. He is a skilled surgeon. His professionalism, communication, and bedside manner are extraordinary. I've seen Dr. Lazzaro a few times and really liked her. She listens and is thorough. Unfortunately she no longer accepts my insurance. I have a secondary insurance thorough my husband's company, so I called to see if their office can take it. Daisy at the front desk was extremely unhelpful; she said if I didn't know if it was an HMO or PPO then she couldn't help me. I tried asking if I could give her my group number, ID number, or any other info so help check and she said I needed to call my insurance. Thanks for nothing. read more

Both the Seal Beach office and the Long Beach office on 2nd Street are pleasant to interact with: Easy to make appointments, greets clients when they enter. I go every 6-12 months for a skin check. Each time the two PA's that have checked have been thorough and kind. I have had a several biopsies taken by either the PA or by Dr. Campbell. I also had a couple of MOHS procedures. This review is based solely on Rosalee. I'm a patient at a sister office in another city so I've never been to this particular office. At the other office, I had a small procedure done and prescription written for an ongoing condition. Went to the pharmacy and no prescription. Called back to the office no answer. Waited 30 minutes and checked back in with the pharmacy and still nothing. Walked next door to the other pharmacy just in case and nothing there either. Called back to the office and no answer again. Called back to each extension and nothing. Drove to a nearby pharmacy to triple check and nothing there either. Called back to the office and this time the phones have been turned off and the office is now closed. I leave a message with their system expecting a call back in the morning. Nothing from anyone. Called back today MULTIPLE times (10x) and still unable to get ahold of anyone there. Show up in person and finally get instructions on care of wound, condition and a note saying the prescription was pushed through. Show up at the pharmacy and....still nothing. Call back and......nothing. Desperate for any sort of help, I call this office and speak with Rosalee. She tries to help me out by calling my office and she is unable to get ahold of anyone there either on any extension. She takes my information down and tells me she will leave a message for my office. I jump back in my car and start heading back to my office when I get a call - it's Rosalee. She tells me she was able to get someone from her office to push through what was needed for the pharmacy and that my prescription should be ready. For her to follow through with helping someone who isn't even a patient at her office is just astounding. Rosalee absolutely deserves every bit of praise for her compassion! A+ for Professionalism. I went to Pacific Dermatology for some spots I needed to have checked. I ended up with 4 spots that required surgery. I have had Mohs surgery with some of the best surgeons but Dr. Lance Chapman was the best so far. He is very upbeat and caring. His skills were the best I have ever seen. He was very thorough and an expert at the repair; it's only been two weeks and my face looks amazing. One was a large spot and he preformed a miracle. Extremely disappointed in the service I just experienced via telephone call to the office. Spoke with elder lady with an accent i believe her name was irena. I explained i had cancelled 2 prior appointments and needed to reschedule, she told me due to my insurance i would need a new referral, makes no sense. I have never been seen there before so why would i need a new one? She said it made no difference to her i could pay cash for all she cared. J explained how she continued to cut me off when i was speaking and she was being very rude and not explaining anything at all simply just stating rude comments that were not helpful. I've always been a nervous person when it comes to medical procedures, but I've had these little skin things on my head for years and in 20 minutes he had everything done. If you read my last review which I didn't think I posted it was kind of bad and mean sour and I do think that some of the staff who answer the phones need to have some better protocol with dealing with patients but Dr. Chapman is awesome. I kid you not I just got off the phone with him he called me personally because of the issues that we're having and gave me his email and really really apologized and I knew that he was a good guy and a good doctor and really nice and I think the message just never got to him I've actually had really good experience with The Naples in office and Seal Beach office is just new but for him to call me like that that was really nice and I really appreciate that don't find any doctors will do that! read more

I've had nothing, but a great experience with the staff and Doctor Cynthia Lazzaro, DO. They have been nothing but friendly, inviting, caring and understanding to my needs. They also helped to recommend products that are useful to my skin to prevent as much skin damage. I've been dealing with a facial skin issues for over 6 months and was taking medication from another physician in the Los Alamitos area. Do to this physicians wrap sheet and issues I decided to look else where. I came across Dr. Lazarro in Seal beach and she has been able to get me on the write path in one month and I wish I was recommended to her sooner. I went to Lance Chapman on 5/18 @ 2pm for Mohs surgery on right temple area and simple incision on left shoulder. No gown was offered. White blouse was ruined by blood. Finished Mohs on temple at 6pm. He told his nurse to pressure bandage me up. Never came back to check on me. Nurse pressure bandaged my entire head including under my chin with my hearing aids and earrings in my ears. When lidocaine wore off about 9pm, I realized what she had done because the pain was getting more and more intense by the hour. By 5am I was in agony from hearing aids pressing into my skull. Went to ER at Los Alamitos hospital where doctor took my blood pressure first thing. It was over 190/? I was told not to worry because once pressure off hearing aids the BP would come down rapidly. No pressure bandage was reapplied. Only simple soft gauze pad with headband type dressing. read more

I am very impressed with Dr Lance Chapman's staff and his expertise. His staff is very courteous and check in was very easy. I was roomed 10 minutes earlier than my appointment time and not only that office manager is efficient and prepares the procedure tray. After evaluation, Dr Chapman explains the options for treatment. He performed a skin biopsy on my scalp without pain. Next, he explains what I would expect next. He also concluded the visit with an open- ended question for me to share him with other dermatological concerns and he also addresses them right away. Most doctors would defer them for another evaluation or office visit. I also appreciated the appointment reminder and staff call to remind me to bring in the authorization before my appointment. In summary, I am very appreciative of Dr. Chapman's professionalism, thoroughness, thoughtfulness, and friendliness, and his office staff for an awesome hospitality! I will certainly come back to have more laser and treatments with Dr Chapman. Thank you very much! read more

It is so hard to find a dermatologist that is still true to treating skin outside of cosmetic procedures. I began developing a rash on my shoulder a few days before calling to make an emergency appointment. My rash started as a small cluster but quickly began to spread up to my neck and down my arm, the itching and burning was enough to drive someone mad. I began calling several dermatologists and not a single practice would take an emergency skin condition but had no problem offering a Botox/filler appointment immediately. I was more than sure I'd have to sit in urgent care for the day before making my final attempt and calling Pacific Dermatology Specialists. I explained what I was experiencing, in a desperate request I asked if they happened to have any availability for this emergency appointment and they invited me in IMMEDIATELY. This is how every office should be ran, not just putting money and cosmetic procedures above insured patients with a skin condition. The office is clean, beautiful and is staffed by caring and attentive employees. Not only will I be a returning patient for any conditions I (hopefully don't) develop but as well as any elective procedures in the future.
